Hurd on Jermell Charlo : “He fight me ANY way like that, he’s getting stop!” ; Hurd would stop Mell in the late rounds

“Soon as he get some real competition in front of him,” Hurd Tweeted in reference to Jermell Charlo, “that KO streak goes out the window.

I wouldn't call a beaten Austin Trout "real competition" but if Jermell couldn't stop this version of Trout then he's not that strong. :OhYes:

The strength angle, as usual, is overrated.

Throw it out the window when 2 talented fighters tangle.

The better skills will usually win out. Charlo has more talent. More dimensions. He'll win.

The size of Hurd is also overdone. In the end, both guys will weigh in at no more than 154.

With all the talk, you would think that Hurd scales in as a super middleweight.

He definitely steps into the ring as a Super Middleweight, possibly a Light Heavyweight. I don't really think he'll be able to keep cutting down to 154 for too long honestly.

After a few more fights he'll probably have no choice, but to move up to 160.

I'm certain that Hurd's days in the super welter division are few.

But so many fighters step into the ring far heavier than what they weighed in at a day earlier.

Sometimes they win. Sometimes they lose. I don't believe Hurd is winning all his fights simply because he appears larger than his opponents.

This Ocampo kid looks even bigger than Spence. But I'd bet the farm that he doesn't come close to upending Spence this Saturday.

Talent trumps size as long as they all weigh in at the same weight.

I can really see Hurd having trouble getting fights. I'd be surprised to see Jermell Charlo go for it, but credit to him if he does.

Or anyone at SWW.
