What would be your top 10 hypothetical fights which you would have liked to have seen? Why?

Actually there are so many fights, that could have happen with the boxers of the same eras, but something went wrong or whatever. It's even hard to sort them in top-10, but a one is probably will be definitely above others. I guess, many have the same opinion. It's Bowe-Lewis. It was more than real to happen, but it didn't materialize with such crazy circumstances.

I prefer fights that really should have and actually could have happened, but maddeningly somehow did not.

There were some good matches made at middle/supermiddle in the 90s but not enough considering the amount of talent that was about on both sides of the atlantic.

What would be your top 10 hypothetical fights which you would have liked to have seen? Why?

Conteh-Galindez: title unification that could have realistically gone either way, circa 1976.

Duran-Arguello: 1978 match could have been a career defining moment before Montreal.

Pedroza-Sanchez: matchup that realistically could have settled who was #1 at 126.

Pryor-Mamby: like previous matchup, may not have ended like everyone thought it would.

Chandler-Gomez: very intriguing matchup.

Camacho-Mayweather: The fact that they were 2 champs in a good division helps this matchup.

McCallum-Hearns: A great fight, circa 1985.

Cuevas-Benitez: great matchup around 1979.

Hagler-Shuler: think James could have taken Marvin to limit if he survived Hearns. Timing on his side as well.

Page-Dokes: 1981-1982, potential thriller.

What would be your top 10 hypothetical fights which you would have liked to have seen? Why?



Please explain.

1) Floyd Mayweather jr. vs Sugar Ray Robinson at welterweight, because it's the best fantasy match in terms of technical rate that boxing could offer.

2) Floyd Mayweather jr. vs Henry Armstrong at welterweight, because I'd like to see Floyd going at it against another all-time-great.

3) Sonny Liston vs George Foreman, because I would love to see these amazing powerpunchers going toe to toe: both very intimidating fighters, they used to spar in a time when Foreman was a young prospect. Foreman declared that Liston was "the only man who ever stood up" to him.

4) Jack Dempsey vs Mike Tyson, because they are fearsome, physically overwhelming, fearless fighters who would rough each other up like there was no tomorrow.

5) Marvin Hagler vs Carlos Monzon, because I'd die to see the best natural middleweights in history going at it.

6) Rocky Marciano vs Floyd Patterson, because they are both quite small to be heavyweights, and they kinda fit for each other.

7) Roberto Duran vs Julio Cesar Chavez at lightweight, because I'd love to see my favorite boxer "manos de piedra" facing his worst nightmare in fantasy fights

8) Pernell Whitaker vs Sugar Ray Leonard at welterweight: another great display of skill

9) Carl Froch vs Joe Calzaghe, because I'd like to see the Cobra's iron chin against the speed, power and unpredictability of Calzaghe

10) Jack Johnson vs Sam Langford, because I'd like to see two oldies physically similar battle each other, hoping they wouldn't clinch too much

That's a very good point, but Chavez was so tough to knock out, and something tells me he would deliver a great performance.

Why would anyone want to see more of Fury-Klitschko?

A few domestic ones that could've happened, Hodkinson v Mcmillan, Barker v Macklin, Benn v Watson 2, Mason v Bruno, Froch v Calzaghe and Calzaghe v Collins.

For me the Eusebio Pedroza vs Salvador Sanchez fight is the glaring Superfight that we never seen... I think that could have been special. Circa 1982ish.

As someone highlighted before, a unification fight between Hatton and Junior Witter would have been a real mashup of styles, which as we know, sometimes offer exciting fights. Circa 2006-07ish

I also would have been interested to see Nigel Benn (freshly off a smashing victory over Iran Barkley) get stuck in with Tommy Hearns. Circa 1991ish.

Tyson vs Lewis around 1992ish would have been interesting as well.

I have no doubt it would be a grueling affair, equal doubt who'd win. Whitaker or Leonard are much more equipped to deliver a nightmare to Duran.
