Re: allegedly
I agree with Ezzard. I've subscribed for donkeys and only watch a small amount of the content. I'm cancelling on Monday because this is bullsit.
Re: allegedly
Well said Ezzard, I agree with everything you say....Ezzard wrote: ↑06 Jun 2018, 01:34 Oh dear what a terrible stunt for them to pull.
I think it's been a great channel. I know many on here had resevations early on. I joined in the first coupe of months and would rather cancel Sky...until now...
It feels like a really dirty trick. Let's ne honest...it's so easy to get a stream or illegal version. I wanted to support the channel because the domestic and international fights were so great. I have loved the commentary team too. I like Steve Bunce and for me Barry Jones is one of the best pundits in British sport et alone just boxing.
I no longer see the point in me subscribing. I'm more the mild-mannered type but I'm fuming.
Plenty of people on here seem to be in the know...so are they about to fold? Does it have a future? If people like me are cancelling then what chance do they have?
I've had allegedly from that first terrific Friday night Bill at the York Hall.
I renewed a B t sport pack a few weeks back and the lady said B T now owned allegedly and the only benefit I had with my sky / bt sport package is I get the American cards in HD.
I phoned allegedly to check this out and they agreed. I cancelled.
It's the end of a great channel, I feel part of it !.
But I also feel cheated. Tuning into the Fury card on tonight, realising I had to view it on bt, and seeing Warren sitting in the front row !!.

Re: allegedly
Is it accepted then that BT have bought the channel ?
If so, obviously they will shut it down and absorb the content, more or less.
Real shame. I have subscribed since day one also. I suppose they've tried everything they can to break the channel out to a more mainstream subscriber base but it has always been a stand alone specialist channel, very difficult to compete against the sky sports array of channels.
Wonder if the passing of Bill Ives has had anything to do with it. I read he had sunk a fortune into the channel.

I understand it now....
Box ! Nation is a boxing channel and doesn't televise pantomimes !!

Re: allegedly
I got rid around xmas when I realised I hadn't watched it for a few months and all their main fights were now on BT. More principle than anything, wasn't gona subsidise allegedly for the sake of the odd US show and not a lot else.

I'm cancelling mine. Got it for Fury vs Chisora 2 and had for a few years since. Loved the Russian afternoon card with Povetkin and some of the big US stuff, but not paying if half the stuff is on BT. No option to cancel on the BNation website I notice! I will call them up.

Re: allegedly
I think Fwank could have handled a lot of the subscriber disillusionment better if he was more open when doing his IFL interviews over the years. He has admittedly improved but he never discusses the BN schedule and gaps in it objectively. In contrast you cannot shut Eddie Hearn up, and he is happy to give running commentaries on anything asked. Box n a tion started out with a commitment to 2 live British shows a week if my memory is correct, and for all the talk about dozens of live domestic shows a year it has never materialised. All Fwank has to do is actually level with fans and I think the vast majority would understand.
The way it is run now is more like the 1980's than 2018. Is the channel going to continue ? who knows - announcement in Sept. Why wasn't Fury on BN - again, they hid and wouldn't give a straight answer. What implication does it have for the future of the channel - won't say. Are they committed to keeping the channel going ? Who knows.
I have been a subscriber since day one and will probably hang on in there until the end. As a life long subscriber, it looks to me like the channel will be shut down later in the year. I have a soft spot for Fwank and can only imagine how hard they've worked to keep things afloat but at the same time, I think in exchange for the £12 a month he could actually open up a bit and tell us what's going on.

Re: allegedly
I’ve just cancelled mine. Feels like the end of an era, bit gutted tbh.
But having to read the RBR thread on here while Fury was on last night was the final straw -content being deliberately withheld from a long time subscriber because I don’t pay for BT Sport as well. Fvck em. Genuinely can’t see the channel lasting more than another 6 months now they’ve properly started separating their fighters between BN/BT.

To be fair to frank, he had the vision, balls and effort to start this up, and I've always felt that is been a special channel, dedicated to my sport. Especially when it focused on small hall, Friday night cards and when a steel company seemed to keep it going, I felt obliged to pay my £12.

I had it from day one and only cancelled when I got It free with BT sports. Felt obliged as a boxing fan to support it.
Liked the small hall shows from places liked Wolverhampton but there was never many of them and that annoyed the shit out of me especially when you’d see the excellent footage from white collar shows. If white collar shows can do it how come a dedicated boxing channel couldn’t? Even on taped delay would have sufficed- surely wouldn’t cost that much? Promoters are putting the shows on anyway so any extra £££ would be welcomed??
My worry if it does go is will we get the American cards still?

That’s my concern - will they just get the odd Top Rank Show - as Eddies 16 (12 Normal & 4 huge) Shows from US will be on sky - so he’ll have boxing 32-36 weeks of the year now on Sky Sports.dave_smith wrote: ↑11 Jun 2018, 05:14 I had it from day one and only cancelled when I got It free with BT sports. 12 MTK shows to be shown live on BN - these must be trying to cover all the main FW fighters who’ll be exclusive to BT.

Looks like MTK/Odd US show and maybe odd small Hall event.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑13 Jun 2018, 15:58So basically it’ll be 12 live shows a year (not featuring any of FW’s attractions) for £12 a month?![]()
Fury/Frampton/BJS etc will all be BT.
Re: allegedly
This channel is dog turd and has been for a long time, its basically box office cause you would only get one good show a month a few years back then gettin nothin but repeats of shows i watched live from the 90's and 00's,it was a great idea by frank but he has neglected it
