Brendans funeral

What a sad occasion, what a great turnout.

I was honoured to have met him and honoured to have been there today to pay my respects.

The ceremony was very well attended and a huge screen made sure those stood outside in the sunshine could also appreciate the beautiful service and speeches.

The wake was very well attended, like a who's who of boxing but it was not a time for pictures, 'selfies', idle insignificant talk. This was all about celebrating the life of the great man. There were many tears and many smiles.

The Ingle family, sheffield, and the boxing public did him proud.

RIP you wonderful great man. There will never be another.

As one of the speeches said...he was everything.......a counselor, a father figure, a magistrate, a policeman, a judge, a friend, a listener, a talker, a teacher........he was everything all rolled into one. he was a fantastic role model.

Brendan Ingle MBE will be sorely missed by one and all.

Excellent write up. It was a gorgeous occassion. Positive, engaging and full of love, warmth and intelligence, just like the great man himself.

I felt he had the funeral that he deserved. You could feel the love in the building for him and outside. A lot of hard work must have gone into preparing for it by his friends and family, and it paid off. I felt the tributes really captured him. They were so well delivered too, which is particularly fitting, as he delivered so many powerful, informative and interesting speeches.

I will always be glad I got to spend time with Brendan and everyone involved in that wonderful gym. Just five minutes in Brendan's company, and you felt better about yourself, your day, your life. In an era with Trump and Charlottsville, we need more people like Brendan in this life.

The good news is, it is impossible to forget a man of his calibre, a man of such rare intelligence, compassion and warmth. He leaves a lasting legacy of goodness and betterment.

I grew up in my teens watching boxing on Sky in the 90s and his stable were central to big time British boxing. A true pioneer and a legacy of dedication and positivity. A man of true principle and very humble too. Sad times.

Echo all the above really, what he did for boxing in Sheffield and the kids in general was unreal really.

Absolute legend in the game,so much more than just a boxing trainer,used to love watching Graham and Hamed etc fighting so i could listen to Brendan in the corner.

i think brendan is the first trainer who as kid i knew his name on par as a boxer, when he was training naz , everything thing i see on him, how he treated the pros to the kids ,i have such big respect for him , made me proud to be of irish blood , i was so sad to hear of his passing , he is a name i will pass on to my kids ,never forgotten god bless
