Canelo vs GGG II is on 15th September
Re: Canelo vs GGG II is on 15th September
Hope GGG smashes him!
Re: Canelo vs GGG II is on 15th September
They've ruined my f*cking birthday treat
Canelo 28 but out of the ring for a year by fight night.
Golovkin closing in on 37.
I think Ginge takes it.

Will be very interesting to see how Canelo fares without PED enhancement. Hope Golovkin smashes his face in.
Re: Canelo vs GGG II is on 15th September
Canelo should never be allowed to box again,Ben Johnson wasnt allowed to sprint for 3 years after seoul and he wasnt hitting anyone just sprintin, anyone caught taking peds in boxing should be banned for life if not then the fans of boxing should boycott all his fights

I bet BJS's hamstring is feeling tight.....
Re: Canelo vs GGG II is on 15th September
You said it was a no go WHOEVER Canelo fought while I said it was a no go if this fight was happening.SenorPipino wrote: ↑13 Jun 2018, 20:00I told you that Wilder-Joshua was a no go on that date.
You'll still have a good scrap to celebrate to.
So neither one of us was wrong.....this time
The difference is that this fight will be at 5am London time & there's no way I'll be up then on my 50th birthday weekend. My days of doing a few grams to stay up for fights are long gone
Re: Canelo vs GGG II is on 15th September
He is enhanced tho, he won't have lost the benefits, just have to look at him. The fight stinks for loads of reasons. I haven't wanted anyone to win as much as I do Golovkin for a long time. Hope he tears him a new one.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑13 Jun 2018, 18:35 Will be very interesting to see how Canelo fares without PED enhancement. Hope Golovkin smashes his face in.

How the hell is canelo able to fight again so quickly after a failed test?
In the ufc a failed test is a minimum year suspension.

I get that, still figured there was at least a minimum suspension period but obviously not.

Really rated GGG in his pomp. Thought he was a machine and didn’t have the right dance partner to take his boxing prowess to the all time great level.
IMO he’s slightly on the decline.
BUT. I have zero respect for Canelo and more importantly Team Canelo.
There are plenty of drug cheats in our sport. Very few act with the aloofness and self righteousness of Canelo. He could of apologised. Instead he acted like boxing was in the wrong for catching him.
Golovkins legacy is secure in my head. So even if he loses (I think he will) I won’t care.
But if he scores a win, better yet a savage beatdown, I will be dancing up and down like I was the night Sir Danny started that barrage against Iron Mike.

It's just damage control from team Canelo.PredatorHayds wrote: ↑14 Jun 2018, 18:42 Really rated GGG in his pomp. Thought he was a machine and didn’t have the right dance partner to take his boxing prowess to the all time great level.

They have to claim it as an accident. Can't formally admit using PEDs. That would loose them lot of following and thus money.
The first fight showed us that Canelo is good enough to survive against GGG if he fights defense first.
I hope that they both feel like they have to go for KO this time.
Ko either way would be great result for the rematch. Probably the only way that Canelo can win without controversy. If GGG gets reckless it might even happen. GGG might go more for the KO this time and I think there is good chance he will get it done
p.s. I have some bad feelings that we might get something like Ward - Kovalev II out of this match. I hope my fears won't come true
Re: Canelo vs GGG II is on 15th September
I’d be gutted if Canelo actually delivered and won decisively.
Didn’t like how, when he finally faced Golovkin, after all the stalling, he wasn’t willing to put it all on the line, throwing 4 consecutive mid-late rounds away with running. Flashy in bursts. All sizzle, no steak, the way I saw it. The old trick of making rounds close by avoiding contact. Fighting like a veteran approaching his 40s, not someone in his prime. A classic 8 round fighter.
I thought Canelo would come in heavy for the fight, to gain an advantage. Then I hear, for the biggest test of his career, he tested positive for PEDs.
Golovkin surely deserved the decision yet he plodded and only punched when Alvarez was on the ropes. It was a slightly disappointing fight. Both men need something extra in their game plan.
Golovkin has certainly faded. He’s reminding me of Sung Kil Moon, a fighter who I don’t quite regard as a great. Moon could blast people out and overwhelm opponents. But as he got older, if fights went to points, against slick boxers, he’d just do the same thing all night, plodding forward and relying on being the stronger man. Thinking of Moon’s fights with Richardson, Salazar, Bueno in particular.

Canelo wins. GGG is tough and definitely hard to beat but he's not exactly a prime Monzon in terms of skills.

Canelo has british level stamina but world level skills. Always been the case. He can't fight for 3 full minutes but he knows how to pace himself because he has a very high ring IQ and doesn't burn up any nervous energy due to turning pro at 15 and seeing it all. I doubt his heart rate gets above his baseline level of about 40bpm until he actually starts fighting in the ring. By contrast I'd say David price is hitting 100bpm in the dressing room before the fight.

Yes, a strange combination.
Also I feel de la Hoya had similar, although not quite so severe, issues. And that Miguel Cotto was another.
Weirdly these are the most popular Hispanic fighters. The ones who often can’t back up their initial machismo in the later rounds.

Really hope to see that shit eating grin taken of de la Hoyas grid.
