As far as we can see he is unbeaten in 6, then nothing :maybe:

(you're welcome, Crease ;-) )
That's a point of contention that has really burned my ass, the lackadaisical effort in record keeping around here.

However... I've been keeping track...

Klitschko beat Bowe in week 7
Klitschko lost to Jackson in week 8
Klitschko beat Chuvalo in week 9
I have been busy with real life, I am sorry I dont obsess over a thread that is actually redundant.

I just find it funny that anyone would openly admit they are too stupid to figure out someone's current record or to find out their last fight, and actually get mad about it.
Whoa, slow down there! First off, we never turned down the fight, we merely offered a suggestion for you to improve your chances of sealing the deal.

Secondly, you're right. I don't have time to read through 6 weeks worth of fight reports to find out what some big mouth journeyman has been up to lately!

It pains me to say this, but your weak trash talk has worked.

Going by the eligibility tiers, all these guys could be available to fight Bowe for the WBO belt. I included all guys who either didn't have a fight lined up, or one against a CPU.

TIER 1 and current ranking:
Max Schmeling (#9)
Joe Louis (#11)
Joe Frazier (#13)

TIER 2 and current ranking:
Larry Holmes (#10)
Peter Jackson (#12)
George Foreman (#14)

TIER 3 and current ranking:
Darrel Madison (#17)
Jean Marc Mormeck (#21)
Jack Dempsey (#22)
Wladimir Klitschko (#25)

If we can't get an opponent from tier one, then it goes down to 2, then 3. If anybody is interested, please speak up. If more than one guy in a tier wants the fight, the champion has the right to choose between the multiple fighters. If only one guy in the highest tier wants the fight, the champion has to fight that opponent.

Mormeck will drop the Rademacher fight, for the Bowe fight. Two Cruiserweights gunning for Heavyweight titles, why not?

Madison said he'd be interested in the Bowe fight as well. So that is two tier 3 guys who are potential options. I'm debating on Jackson myself.

Let's see who else steps up in the next two days.

WestEndRiot - George Foreman, Riddick Bowe, Fabrice Tiozzo

Madison and Mormeck are interested in the title shot at the WBO with Bowe. I'm still debating on Jackson.

I'm debating whether to drop out of the series altogether following week #10 and week #11. Haven't made up my mind yet, but I think BoxRec is just too hostile an environment these days for someone like myself anymore. It's been a good decade, but maybe it's time I walk away from the site.

Sorry I haven't been around for a while: changes to the site have made it more difficult to access on mobile and unfortunately I was just too lazy to get my old laptop out most of the time.

Anyway, if the Bowe WBO title shot is still available Louis would be interested in taking it. Not sure it's the right thing to do, swooping straight into contention without having fought last week, but if he is eligible, what the hell, he'll take it. If not he'll take on CPU Michael Spinks.

Rijker will take on CPU Anne Sophie Mathis.
Ezzard will take on CPU Matt Skelton (is he available?)
Dariusz will take on CPU Firat Arslan.

Will make more of an effort to take part next week.

Crazy idea, just play the SIM and don't bother with other sections of the site? I don't go to the main scene like I used to myself. Too many trolls and multiple user accounts. Stick with the sim and enjoy the season..... :TU:

Glad you are alive good sir. Louis can have his shot since he is eligible. Our new matchmaking due date is every Sunday. If Louis was to win and you miss next week, I can match him up with a feasible eligible opponent. Hopefully you can get back on. The site looks the same to me on mobile, though I guess phones vary.

Btw, why not Foreman vs Holmes II?

AND... I can drop the Rademacher fight and mix it up with Fabrice Tiozzo if he wants to, so that solves two matches.

Westside has been here an oddly hasn't matched the rest of his team. I hope he gets online just to see he's facing Louis and not Vitali this week. That fight just went from 50/50 to 15/85 for him. Tiozo/Mormeck would be a good one, hopefully West comes on and agrees.

Foreman/Holmes would be another good read, but it's up to the managers to match them. Any unmatched guys, I think Fist just leaves them inactive for the week.

The main scene was ruined for me by the countless trolls and multiple user names. You see the same arguments over and over, which are mostly based on racism deep down. This site used to be great. You'd learn something new every day and even the trolls were funny. To me, it was a 10/10 forum. I don't know what other forums look like, but it's a 3/10 for me these days If it wasn't for the Sim and daily pick'em, I wouldn't even come back to this shyt.....

Apologies, I signed Tiozzo up for Prizefighter a few days ago and thought it was this week, not week 11!

Sadly, the lack of contenders has left Bowe's title defence out of my hands so I've just been waiting to see if Louis or Frazier would step up

Foreman will face a CPU opponent to be confirmed very soon after his war with Marciano

I agree 100%. I started coming on this site in 2001, there was another forum before the one we have now, it was very different. I don't think we even had names at that point. I was only 16 years old. This site used to be my favorite thing on the internet, I never had a bad time. Then it started to go downhill and it only got worse and worse. Now I consider most of this site a cesspool that I don't have the time or energy to waste on anymore. That is a big reason I didn't even try to come back until now. But as you said, I have for the most part stayed in this part of the site only and things are much better when I keep it that way. Every now and then I stray into other parts and it's just depressing, a lot of the people just come across as pathetic to me.

Thank God for The Sim.

It really is sad. Like you, this site was great to me. Before everything got deleted, I think I was in the top 20 for all time posts here. I used to look forward every day coming home from work and checking out the forum. A lot of the old time posters were great. We also had people involved with the sport posting. Now it's 80% of just trash.

2008-2010 was probably my favorite time here in BoxRec... Back then there was many boxers, trainers, managers, and promoters who used to post here... Cliff Couser, Rob Calloway, Stacy Goodson, JD Chapman, Joe Hipp, and even MR ALLEGEDLY HIMSELF... I loved his stories about his cousin Lenny McLean.

Unfortunately an influx of casuals and outright rude and obnoxious people came to the site saying how all these guys were trash, etc and very few people actually in the industry ever come here anymore (once in a blue moon).

The wealth of knowledge that used to be here was extraordinary. But it's not like that anymore, hasn't been for easily 5 years. Now the site is relegated to being a Jerry Springer special, though that's rather unkind to the former mayor of Cincinnati because at least he had manners.

Oh well....

Sometimes as we age, we simply grow jaded and imagine that "back in the day" things were better.

Were they? Or is that your sentiment playing tricks on you.

This shyt seems to have changed little....and the good is still there to be seen if you care to be discerning.

Ignoring the idiots is a great skill. Getting control of what YOU let get under your skin is a strength.

Very few others have the energy or the skillset to set that table for you.

Sites don't improve when people who want and demonstrate civility walk away.

Neither does the world.....but I suppose civility itself lends itself to "tiring or becoming weary" in the face of fools.

But that needs to change....or the whole civil construct goes phhhhtttt.

The pope said that a sense of humor is at the top of the list in terms of a skillset.

Maybe we should laugh at fools, and "Keep calm and carry on"

Ignoring, or simply making light of what one might consider the "lessers" among us might be an option.

Civility should not be a weakness.....and it's hard to imagine "non participation" as a strength.

just sayin.......
