Cecilia Braekhus. Pretty much the GOAT in the women's game. Only father time could beat her at this point. Not a puncher but her technique is the best I've ever seen among women fighters. Still, I have to agree that marketing of the women's game is crap. It might do better if promoters tried harder but old habits are hard to break and MMA promoted women while it was still relatively new with the avg sports fan.

Stuff like that just devalues the sport of women's boxing.

I watched the Sam Smith Anisha Basheel female Commonwealth title fight this morning.
Honestly I thought I was guy with a pretty inclusive attitude, but I found the stoppage and the moments leading up to it far more upsetting than more brutal knockouts in male contests.
I used to think that I didn't really watch ladies boxing because I didn't care about it in much the same way that I don't really bother following the wee tiny weight classes, but maybe it is actually because I am a 1970s sexist.

I was impressed with the skill level and technique but they did not have power. I now coach abut 8 women along with my male boxers. They are fun to coach and motivated. I have been a coach for US teams in international events and had 2 who made the 2016 US Olympic team. They have developed power now compared to back in '01. They will keep getting better as they get more experience.
For those who say women belong in the house, piss off to Saudi Arabia.
Nice to hear your observations. I did a bit of support training in a gym here. Had the honor to work with a great female fighter who is a good friend of Claressa Shields. She can really throw some sweet combinations, perhaps the most skilled fighter in the gym! I think this fight between Gabriels and Shields won't be lacking much of anything the men have.
hopefully its not lacking power, shields is a 2x olympic gold medalist and has been pounding on these chicks but cant even score one knockdown so far. gabriel was stopped before so maybe this will be the time for shields to put someone down finally
