Josh Warrington vs Kid Galahad

Post by keithmoonhangover »

Galahad is high in the IBF rankings and it would sell very well at Elland Road. If they fight, who you picking? :bag:

Warrington by robbery. Galahad seems like the guy who never get the break to go his way.

Wouldn't ANY Warrington fight sell well at Elland Road?

Would Galahad bring a decent fanbase?

Galahad overrated for me. Warrington all day long. Ideal first defence for him with plenty of local interest.

His next fight will be a massive deal, but all British fights are always very popular. I think the match up would attract a lot of boxing fans, that a fight against a foreign opponent wouldn't.

Fair enough. So not necessarily Galahad, just a decent British opponent.

Jamie McDonnell just said he's continuing at Featherweight. Obviously he needs a decent win but he could be in the mix by next summer.

Josh has been vocal about kid and his doping and can only see this fight happening as a mandatory.
Jamie mac would be a good shout at 126 and a first defence. Dont think mac is ranked tho

I think Warren will be looking for a slightly less tricky opponent for Josh's first defence. Especially with a big fight with Frampton on the horizon.

Galahad would be a very good fight, but personally Im still struggling a bit with the steroid stuff to want to see him get a title shot anytime soon.

Id say so. Dickens bossed the fight then gased and kid stopped him but that was long time ago and he has only really fought joureymen since his come back. Warrington wins for me.

Dickens was narrowly ahead at the end of Round 9 due to a point deduction. If he'd have got up from his knockdown he would have been behind.

Warrington right now.......and wherever the venue.

Galahad has lost so much important prime-time and momentum and Warrington proved against Selby that he can still get to a cute/quick fighter, land some punches and not be left swiping at thin air and slipping too many rounds to counters.

I liked the Galahad we saw at SBW and bossing Europe and the UK - he looked a bit special - but I suspect the fizz has gone and Warrington would march him down and in all likelihood beat him up quite badly.

I want Galahad to do something because he seems to promise plenty. But he’s not worthy of a world title shot, he’s done nothing of note for years, it’s become a farce.

Galahad drug ban hurt him. I am sure he would have got a world title shot if that didn't happen. No one really promoting him it seems. shame but as a poor ticket seller and not much of a fan base he is part of a who needs him club. He needs to go into a WBSS thing. the only way he will earn some decent money.

Yes fighting in front of 200 people at the Ponds Forge. Maybe getting back with Hennessy won't be necessary a bad thing as Mick needs fighters if he can get more Channel 5 slots, Galahad really needs a 126 WBSS tournament.
