Copy/paste the BoxRec rankings to Excel and analyse the data for yourself.

Re: KO stats per divsion
The ratings on Boxrec doesn't have the KO's
If there any specific divisions you're looking at and I can run some quickly through Google sheets for say the top 20 + champions on the IBO website?

Re: KO stats per divsion
pretty sure i looked through this before. what i do recall is that the lowest divisions defo had lower ko rates overall. i think it was a gradual increase all the way to the top of the weights but cant recall exactly on that point

Re: KO stats per divsion
Just using my mega limited sample
The Super Flyweights are bigger hitters than the Bantamweights but I suspect you're right overall barring one or two anomalies
Re: KO stats per divsion
To me it seems like the distribution of stoppages is probably more random than that, at least among championship level fighters.
Re: KO stats per divsion
I don't think the best heavyweights of my lifetime have won by stoppage any more often than light/light welterweights like Chavez, Pryor, Rosario, and Tszyu, bantam/super bantamweights like Austin, Gomez and Marquez, or fly/super flyweights like Gonzalez, Inoue, Nery and Sor Rungvisai.
Re: KO stats per divsion
a pity you don't have the numbers, but thanks!
Re: KO stats per divsion
overall thee should be a solid statistic onsquiggy wrote: ↑19 Jun 2018, 15:11 I don't think the best heavyweights of my lifetime have won by stoppage any more often than light/light welterweights like Chavez, Pryor, Rosario, and Tszyu, bantam/super bantamweights like Austin, Gomez and Marquez, or fly/super flyweights like Gonzalez, Inoue, Nery and Sor Rungvisai.
this, since there are many observations
overall long period of time. has not much
to do with certain fighters in a certain time
span.

smws need to raise there f@cking game
ya in general though a greater stoppage rate higher up, but there are actually still quite a few good kos and knockdown filled fights lower down. sometimes ppl say there not interested in the smaller guys because of not much power, but they still do plenty of damage to each other!

the bigger guys. now i find the technical
fights at the lower weights much more
exciting. peak pac, now loma, how much
better could it get?
i was just interested in seeing if the idea
of more weight-more kos is a myth or
backed up by fact.
