David Allen v Tony Yoka
Intersting little fight, Allen going to France to face a 4 fight unbeaten French novice this Saturday.
Allen has said if he loses this fight he will go onto Love Island
So whats your thoughts on this fight, and of Yoka?

Re: David Allen v Tony Yoka
If Yoka has any fans I haven't met them!
Allen needs a stoppage to win, obviously, and Yoka's vulnerable. But still, Yoka should have too much unless Allen steps it up from his boxing-like-he's-winning-when-he's-not. There were signs in the Thomas rematch that he'd turned a bit of a positive corner, so let's hope.

This on TV?
Re: David Allen v Tony Yoka
It's on Canal station in France so you should be able to get a stream easy enough. Not sure if you can access that channel online. There's plenty action on from over here anyway
I might try and catch this online on Sunday.

Winning a Gold in the Olympics and Gold in the World think Alan needs more then stepping it up...

If you're sold on Yoka as a pro...
But Allen's yet to find enough nastiness to impose his reasonable skills to full effect. It might be a half-decent fight if Yoka winds him up.

Re: David Allen v Tony Yoka
Allen is a likable enough guy and an ok fighter but i can't see him doing more than labour to a one sided points loss against the quicker and better schooled Frenchman (even if he has failed to impress).
Hope I am wrong though as a win here could set Allen up for a decent couple paydays against Dubois, Gorman and Joyce (all fights i would expect him to lose).

Allen is just a likeable guy. Good following.
Re: David Allen v Tony Yoka
I like Dave Allen.
But Yoka is an Olympic and world gold medalist.
He should be smashing Dave Allen.

Re: David Allen v Tony Yoka
dave allen is a tough in defeat loser, not anyone i expect to give anyone remotely good problems beyond them having to go rounds in beating him up. id think hell just shell up and play punch bag and try to go rounds

I thought he beat Joyce in the world final but not the Olympic final. That Olympic final win was pre planned due to his fiancé winning gold as well..lillywhite14 wrote: ↑23 Jun 2018, 09:08He didn’t deserve either.
A fairer description would be ‘Yoka is an Olympian and World medallist’![]()
He should be smashing Allen though 100%
I've seen a picture of Dave at the weigh in. He looks in poor shape for this.
He isn't natural aesthetic but he really did work hard to get in the shape he was for the Lebroy Thomas rematch.
Re: David Allen v Tony Yoka
Yoka is 1/25. Seems a mismatch
Re: David Allen v Tony Yoka
He never looks in decent shape. He's a good bloke but if he loses this I don't see where he goes next other than being an opponent or short notice stand in.Naandrew wrote: ↑23 Jun 2018, 13:51I thought he beat Joyce in the world final but not the Olympic final. Allen stopped in 10th.

Re: David Allen v Tony Yoka
if Yoka and Joyce are the next generation of Olympic stars then its going to be a yawn.
tubby little Allen shouldn't be going ten rounds....it shows neither Yoka or Joyce have any decent punch power.
Yoka is certainly a cut above Joyce though but really they are both not worth getting too excited about

He’s been calling him out already
Re: David Allen v Tony Yoka
Yoka takes ten rounds to stop Allen which shows that JOYCE does not have decent punch power?funso banjo baby wrote: ↑23 Jun 2018, 17:35 if Yoka and Joyce are the next generation of Olympic stars then its going to be a yawn.

I haven't seen the fight - did Allen throw many shots?TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑24 Jun 2018, 05:13It took yoka 9 round stop realize Allen has absolutely no offence and is basically a walking punch bag
I follow him on Twitter and he seems quite pleased with his efforts - not sure that is a good thing. He gives it the old "I am 'ard, me" but these kind of fights wont do him any good.
