Exactly what does it take for corruption to be investigated in boxing?

You know what, you'll see in my posts the other day, was me bigging up Taylor, but this kind of shit makes me think, fcuk it I've had enough of boxing. It's so unfair to the away fighters.

2 judges gave Taylor rounds 1&2 :o
After round two I thought "Taylor is going to lose here"
Unflippinbelievable.

Postol won 6 out of 36 rounds, with one even round scored.

Yeh, Taylor might have won fair nd square, but someone wilo see the scorecards and think, ‘meh, it was a one sided fight, not watching that’..

Truth is, it was a good fight. Scorecards don’t do Postol any favours.

I thought Taylor edged the first. I had the second for Postol. Wasn't a lot in those first few rounds.

114-113 taylor, he clearly shouldve been behind until late

The knockdown won him the fight. He was never miles ahead before the KD. I’m not pissed that Taylor won, its more about the judges telling a different story.

Which rounds did you give Taylor out of interest? I think 2, maybe 3 or 4, then 9-12 maybe? Can you see a case for Postol winning 7 rounds?

I had Postol 2 up after eight, wouldn't argue with 3 up. Taylor took just about everything after that though apart from the odd minute or so in a couple of rounds. The knockdown was the turning point and deciding factor.

I gave it to Taylor 115 - 112. The scorecards are ridiculous.

I had Postol winning 6 rounds with 2 even.

The best I can offer Taylor is a 1 point win if I gave those even rounds to him.

The 119 card is sickening - gave Taylor everything from 2 onwards :witzend:

I don't usually get too caught up on cards if the right guy gets the nod regardless, but when you lean towards the away fighter winning but he's given so little it from all 3 judges it stinks of corruption.

Fair play to McGuigan for stating the cards were too wide.

I have lost all interest in boxing in the last year after it being one of the main priorities in my life for so long.

I didn’t even know Taylor was fighting last night until I had a quick look at bet365 whilst having a bet on the football.

I tuned in for the main event and it just reinforced to me why I have given up on the “sport”. It is no wonder it is dying on its arse. Corruption pure and simple. There was no way Taylor was ever not going to be awarded that fight.

It absolutely stinks. As someone said above - “what does it take for there to be an investigation?”

All that will happen is fans will moan and groan and nothing will happen. And everyone will accept it being part and parcel of boxing.

I am not paying money to sustain that. If boxing continues to wither and die then it’s brought it on itself and it deserves it.

This all goes back to London 2012 when I first saw that Britain had become a joke.

If I was a foreign fighter, the only reason I would come to the UK would be if I was sure I would slaughter my over-matched opponent, or I was rubbish and needed the payday.

If I thought it may be close I would steer well clear. The UK is the new Germany, just with crap food and beer.

He probably said it to save face. Same thing ODLH said with Byrds scorecard

I'm stunned with the above comments.
I had Taylor a clear and decisive winner. The first 6 rounds were close granted, but I couldn't give Postol any more than 2 of them. Thereafter I don't believe Postol could have taken more than one round. I had it 117-110 Taylor.

Terrible scorecards which is a shame when recently fighters like Truex,Hooker,Parker against Fury got a fair decision in close fights.

Two of the scorecards were a joke.

116-113 but a round either side of that would be agreeable enough.

Taylor was losing until the knockdown, which was crucial, not just for the point, but for the momentum shift that came with it.

It is a shame that after a very good high level boxing match between two excellent professional we are having to discuss the dodgy judges rather than the action in the ring.

the really strange thing when you work it out is that postal could have scored a knockdown inthe 11th and 12th round and still would have lost. imagine that !!!

Yeah I worked that out too when I was in bed after the fight, was a random thought and calculation that came into me head. Insane situation.

I said it in the RBR and I know this reflects on me badly, but I kinda hoped Taylor lost due to my dislike of the McGuigans (Barry in particular who I think are among the biggest arseholes in the sport around the top level. Feel even worse as my old man is Irish and one of my early memories was watching the Pedroza fight with him on the TV above one of his mates pubs.

Unfair on Taylor that, he is a solid individual. You need to divorce the fighter from the promoter.
