Garcia, KO/TKO........
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Robert Easter Jr. - July 28, 2018
Of couse, Garcia is a favourite. Maybe Easter's size will somehow manage to help him in being uncomfortable opponent, so I'm not sure in Garcia stopping him, but I guess, Mikey at least will take a confident decision.

Garcia will dominate.
Easter's string of fortune as a shaky lightweight titlist is about to run out.
If he wants to get on his bicycle and simply survive, I suppose Easter can go 12 lopsided rounds.
But if he desires to actually win the fight, Garcia destroys him by the halfway point.

Mikey Garcia: Robert Easter is Toughest Fight of My Career
Garcia (38-0, 30 KOs), of Moreno Valley by way of Oxnard, Calif., became only the third fighter in modern history to become champion at 126, 130, 135 and 140-pounds, joining future Hall of Famers Juan Manuel Marquez and Manny Pacquiao, when he defeated Sergey Lipinets for the IBF 140-pound title in March. The 30-year-old relinquished that title so that he can unify the WBC Lightweight World Championship that he won in January 2017 with a highlight reel knockout of Dejan Zlaticanin (Click HERE to watch Garcia-Zlaticanin KO video)
These wins, combined with a summer 2017 victory over Adrien Broner, have seen Garcia return to the top of pound-for-pound lists after a layoff of two and a half years. Garcia accrued wins over a list of notable names while winning his first two titles at 126 and 130-pounds, including Orlando Salido, Roman Martinez and Juan Manuel Lopez.
"This is the toughest fight of my career to date," said the four-division champion Garcia. "Robert Easter Jr. is an undefeated world champion who presents serious challenges that I'm going to have to work hard to overcome. Unifying titles is something I've dreamed of doing for many years, and to do it at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles will make it even more special. This is the kind of fight that will help my legacy. To be the best you have to beat the best, and Easter is certainly one of the best out there. I'm very thankful to have this opportunity and I'm going to make the most of it on July 28."

Easter couldn't beat Fortuna, so I expect a comfortable victory for Mikey.

Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Robert Easter Jr. - July 28, 2018
I don't believe it's his toughest fight. Since Easter has won the title, it's been the casing that we're waiting for him to lose it. Many had Fortuna beating him.
If Garcia had fought him a year or so ago and said it was his toughest, maybe i'd think yeh.. But Easter has been exposed.
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Robert Easter Jr. - July 28, 2018
Easter has relied on careful opponent selection and his height and reach. I really don't rate him. He has nothing in his armoury to keep Garcia off him. Easter doea have a nice long range jab, but he uses it so sporadically in fights, that any let offs will allow Garcia in to do what he does best.
It's a good fight, and a unification. But I see it only as a stepping stone to the one we want- Garcia/Loma

Garcia has said after this, the Loma fight makes the most sense.

It seems, it won't happen before Loma fights someone less tough after his injury.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 Jun 2018, 18:57 Garcia has said after this, the Loma fight makes the most sense.

I'm pretty certain that whenever he returns, Lomachenko's first fight will be against Beltran.DrDuke wrote: ↑12 Jun 2018, 05:23It seems, it won't happen before Loma fights someone less tough after his injury.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 Jun 2018, 18:57 Garcia has said after this, the Loma fight makes the most sense.
Garcia vs Lomachenko might be a year away.
Re: Mikey Garcia vs. Robert Easter Jr. - July 28, 2018
Heck, everybody in the division wants a crack at Beltran. It's the perceived easy belt. Ray is into making a few final paydays I expect. I could easilly see him making a few sure bet defences before he cashs out.SenorPipino wrote: ↑12 Jun 2018, 09:21I'm pretty certain that whenever he returns, Lomachenko's first fight will be against Beltran.DrDuke wrote: ↑12 Jun 2018, 05:23It seems, it won't happen before Loma fights someone less tough after his injury.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 Jun 2018, 18:57 Garcia has said after this, the Loma fight makes the most sense.

Sure everyone wants a crack at him. Beltran would be considered a vulnerable beltholder.KiwiRider wrote: ↑12 Jun 2018, 16:02Heck, everybody in the division wants a crack at Beltran. But this bout would be made on orders of Arum who obviously wants Lomachenko to acquire as many shiny belts as possible for appearences sake.

Easter: Against Mikey Garcia, You'll See Why So Many Duck Me!
IBF lightweight world champion Robert Easter Jr. (21-0, 14 KOs) is really pumped to secure the fight that he's been calling for, a unification with WBC lightweight champion Mikey Garcia (38-0, 30 KOs).
Their highly anticipated showdown will take place on Saturday, July 28th, in the main event of a Showtime televised card from the Staples Center in Los Angeles in an event presented by Premier Boxing Champions.
Garcia is the favorite to come out on top, but Easter will enter the ring with a 5-inch height and 8-inch reach advantage.
Neither boxer has ever been a unified champion.
Garcia has captured world titles at 126, 130, 134 and 140-pounds.
Easter has not been as impressive as many had expected in his last two fights. He had a tougher time than anticipated in defeated Denis Shafikov back in June of 2017. And then he barely escaped defeat when he secured a very close twelve round split decision over Javier Fortuna in January of this year.
Easter admits that he wasn't very motivated by some of his recent opponents, but he promises to be at his very best when he steps in the ring with Garcia.
"This is a fight that's going to bring the best skills out of me. You got two boxers who can box, so its sort of gonna be a chess match. Two of the best in the weight class are coming to clash on July 28th, and this is going to bring the best out of me and people are really going to see who the real Robert Easter Jr. is," Easter told BS.com.
"This fight is going to really show my true boxing skills and why a lot of fighters have been ducking me. After I win this fight, it's going to take me to superstar status. It's going to put me where I need to be and let everyone recognize who I really am."
