Flanagan might have lost his last fight but I wouldn't mind see him going in.

This is good timing for Taylor. He’s had his career best win and learn lots in the process. He was ready for the next step up and now he can do it in a tournament that pays extremely well and he could end up undisputed champ if a couple more names are added.

Cyclone will be happy as pressure off to deliver and keep him (rumours were flying about his relationship was strained).

Prograis, Hooker, Lipinets and Troyanovsky would be a good 4 to finish. I imagine Relikh, Hooker and Prograis would be the top 3 seeds. Not sure about number 4.

Edit - Nvm, just remembered it'd be Yigit picking Baranchyk for the vacant IBF title fight.

I still would like to see Postol in there. If anything, his loss to Taylor showed how good he still is.
I rank him #3 SLW. And that alone is good enough to be in this.

Looks like Taylor vs Prograis will be in the quarter finals.

If Hooker joins he’ll be top seed because of his belt, and he’ll get to choose probably between Taylor and Ryan Martin.

taylor vs progras to start is sort of good and bad. great fight but they could be the 2 best guys and one of them would be elimnated straght away w/o getting a chance to show there abilty vs anyone else . having two strong guys shine helps create a massively interesting final

compare that to somethng such as maurce h vs ryan martn that would guarnantee a much lesser guy going ahead while prog or taylor is out

 I think we can both have a guess at which of the two he will choose.

Reading that Hooker will be fighting a top rank fight Saucedo in November.

That would rule him out. I think that may be a mandatory,

Bob is WBO co owner with Frank don't forget.

Ryan Martin in as well to complete the tournament.

2 QF's confirmed:

Relikh vs Troyanovsky (WBA)
Yigit vs Baranchyk (IBF)

Leaving: Prograis, Taylor, Flanagan and Martin.

I imagine Prograis and Taylor will be seeded. Prograis vs Martin and Taylor vs Flanagan would definitely make the most sense. Wonder if Prograis would see Flanagan as an easier fight than Martin though, if he's seeded 3rd and Taylor 4th?

Last time the belt holders got to select their first round opponents.
Is it still the same format this year?

dunno but theres only 1 belt holder in the 140 tourney (will be 2 after yigit-baranchyk) and he already has his fight chosen (because its been ordered by wba), so not much of an issue there.
