It's not possible to watch much of him, but from what it can be seen for the moment he looks like a regular prospect, a raw one and not so promising.

I've been aware of him for over two years but in all that time he has done next to nothing.

He's young and he's big but beyond that there doesn't seem to be very much to say. It could change very quickly but if you asked me for a one word summary of his progress to date it would be 'disappointing'.

Well, he's 31, what can be considered critical taking into account his current level of competition.

You beat me to it. I just looked at his record and saw that I had grossly underestimated his age. That makes his progress even more uninspiring.

Well, Breazeale, for example, has appeared about his 30s on the higher level, so everything still can develop, but, yeah, not likely in this case for the current moment.

Breazeale was late to the party but has wasted no time in making up for it.

Then you get age thirty plus heavyweights who look to have the necessary equipment, yet show absolutely no sign of being aware they need to get their arse unglued. Examples being the two Zhangs, Bogdan Dinu (Bogged-down Dinu?), Michael Wallisch and many more ... including it would seem, Mr. Chaney.

Maybe they look at the likes of Wesley Nofire, Ed Latimore, LaRon Mitchell and decide beating up cab-drivers for a little extra disposable income is not so bad.

chaney does not look promising at all imo

pretty unrefined and not possesing any real notable raw strength other then size. not very fast, strong, hard hitting etc. already got dropped by jon bolden and only won by a point, and already had an md at a low level

we just saw sweetviolent create a thread ahead of time, in a way sort of anticipating how a solid journeyman like rodney hernandez would beat padded 16-0 laron mitchell, and chaney is another guy who i think will really find it difficult to move much beyond hernandez types

He got lucky against Jon Bolden after getting dropped heavily by him.
