Finnegan and Fourie each had very good jabs off the top of the head. Fourie was a very underrated Lt. Heavy in general. Excellent fighter.

What about Mike Quarry and former WBA light heavyweight champion Vicente Rondon's jab?

It wasn't a title fight but Foster said that Ali had the best jab that he ever encountered.
"It wasn't that powerful but it kept you off balance," Foster said in assessing his career opposition. "It's hard to get away from a fast, snappy jab. Ali was the only guy I fought who had a good jab."
I guess Foster didn't find the jab of any of his light heavyweight challengers all that imposing.

I don't have anything to say about this question because I haven't studied Foster's fights enough. But I did see the Foster-Quarry fight, and I recall that Mike displayed a quick, flicking, persistent jab. But look what happened: Foster held back, lulling Quarry into a sense of false confidence. Then came the ending...

I agree. Interestingly, I remember reading that Madison Square Garden wanted to bring Fourie to NYC in late '77 or early '78 as an opponent for Mike Rossman. That would have been a fascinating fight, given that the experienced Fourie was aging and on the downside, and the young, inexperienced Rossman was on the ascendant.Abradolf Lincler wrote: ↑02 Jul 2018, 15:00 Fourie was a very underrated Lt. Somewhat off topic comment, but so what...

You're right Ron, Pierre Fourie was underrated and he was good boxer with his fast left jabs despite the lack of power and would have given any light heavyweights in his era whom he never face a tough fight.
