Two-division WBA World Champion Beibut Shumenov’s ring return following a two-year hiatus will be screened live and exclusive on allegedly.
The 2004 Kazakhstan Olympian retired last June due to an eye injury that required surgery, forcing him to relinquish his WBA World Cruiserweight Title, but now he feels ready to claim yet another belt when he faces German born Hizni Altunkaya on July 7th.
Not known for taking soft touches, Shumenov (17-2, 11 KOs) challenges a game contender in Altunkaya (30-1, 17 KOs), a youthful Cruiserweight who has beaten solid opposition in the past but will now be in with the best fighter that he has ever faced.
Taking place from the Barys Arena in Astana, next month’s event will be part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the Kazakhstan capital with many political dignitaries expected to attend Shumenov's comeback fight.
Due to it being in Kazakhstan, BN will air the card from 11am til 3pm.. Replay from 7pm til 11pm..
Anyone going to actually watch this tomorrow?

I will watch as I watch every live boxing match.
Better than no boxing at all but would of much preferred a broadcaster picking up the Fresno card instead.
Can’t see Shumenov being a threat for any major titles again.

Yes - made UK 'prospects vs TBA' cards look like Back Door Sluts 9.

Pitiful showing from Altunkaya, the bodyshot which put him down in the 1st was a sickener in all fairness and he done very well to beat the count but whether that had anything to do with his tactics of running and not throwing who knows?
As I said that was a sickener of a left hook downstairs from Shumenov but after that he looked pretty one paced bar the odd flurry, he had most success with the right hand but he never really sustained any attacks, made it the more frustrating that when Shumenov did finally turn it up a notch in the 9th Altunkaya went down pretty quick, again though Shumenov never pressed enough for the KO, wasn't too surprised Altunkaya quit at the end of the round, he'd been there for the taking all night
Shumenov is a decent European level Cruiserweight but if he was to step in with any of the other top Cruisers he'd get fvking evaporated

I didn't see the fight myself but I want to give you plaudits for the use of evaporated! Quite the verb,!handsofstone wrote: ↑07 Jul 2018, 15:33 Pitiful showing from Altunkaya, the bodyshot which put him down in the 1st was a sickener in all fairness and he done very well to beat the count but whether that had anything to do with his tactics of running and not throwing who knows?
