Matthysse has flown out today.

Arum’s probably gutted that MP Promotions first even is going ahead.

I think Pacquiao is more shot. But since his skill level was so much higher than Mathyse, I think it is nearly a 50/50 fight now.
Yes this is going to be interesting. I’m wary of Matthysse punch resistance. I’m also wary of Pacmans activity levels or lack of activity. I don’t think Pac-Man can ko him but he could drop him and cruise to a UD. Lucas may though have the more hunger of the two and may push the pace and do some damage or maybe even a lot of damage. I’m going to side with Matthysse.

This is a great fight from my perspective- Manny is well on the other side of his greatness, and the possibility of that turn becoming a rapid fade, ups with every fight.
Mathysse is proven to be dangerous enough, and his slide is more mooted than evident. Whatever the case, his level is high.
Pacquiao on points or Mathysse stoppage. I slightly favour the latter, but I'll not be throwing much down in faith.
IMO Pacquiao has more than earned walking the road out of boxing Vs whoever he likes (everyone does tbh) so I applaud the choice of opponent; and I'm looking forward to the fight.

I don’t see Mathysse as shot, I see him as feeling like he's peaked and on the train out.
Which means he may have plenty more in the tank than we credit him for.

Imagine being a Filipino and one of your senators (and a future presidential candidate) isn’t man enough to speak to one of his closest allies and an employee of more than sixteen years to inform him of being sacked?
Yeah, I'm sure all that hardwork and charity he's done for his people doesn't matter because of this.

Imagine you ever writing a good post.
Isn’t it kind of funny that a bigoted serial adulterer like Manny Pacquiao, who tried to avoid paying taxes to the tune of tens of millions of dollars to both the US and Philippine governments, is being portrayed as some sort of obscenely saintly individual that lives an altruistic and virtuous lifestyle?

The sort of money he’s giving to charity, as a PR stunt to enhance his own image, is probably loose change in comparison to the unpaid taxes he still owes. Perhaps his charitable exploits is simply a ploy to distract people from this huge debt he still owes?

It’s not as if you can undermine my claims about Manny’s tax evasion situation, being a bigot, his historical track record of being a serial adulterer or the way he mis-treated Freddie Roach.

Facts don’t care about your opinions or feelings.

You'll have to pony up $4.99 for a month's worth of service if you want to view next Saturday's Pacquiao vs Matthysse title fight.

ESPN has decided to broadcast the bout from Malaysia on its new ESPN + subscription app instead of offering it for free on its regular network.

The cost is $4.99 or $50 if you prefer to subscribe for a year.

There is a way around it, however. You can sign up for a free 7 day trial (unless you've already done that) in the upcoming week and watch the fight without cost.

Should be interesting to see how many fans will still pay to watch Pacquiao, even if the cost is fairly minimal.

Just a few years back he and Mayweather were setting PPV records.

Now, hardly anyone is even talking about this fight for Matthysses' coveted WBA regular championship.

The Pacquiao hype train apparently derailed some time ago.

Espn+ pretty much means this will be one of Pacquiao's least watch fights. The Crawford and Khan fights were never replayed on Espn or espn, so I'm sure this one will likely be kept away from world wide boxing fans as well.

Mannys apparently not enrolled in the vada cbp - Lucas is. I’m not sure if Manny was for the Horn fight does anyone know?

Apparently ESPN doesn't want viewers to rely on some delayed tape coverage of its ESPN + app fights.

That would undoubtedly cause a lot of fans to forgo purchasing the app

I'll be heading down to Mexico this weekend. Some boxing aficionado amigos there told me that the Crawford-Horn fight was carried in several bars, so I expect that the much more popular Pacquiao should be readily available too.

14 people apparently didn’t see LMM’s last fight. He looked as bad you could possibly look. Getting badly outboxed by a nobody. When that nobody seemingly took a dive in the 7th round or whatever it was. This is an easy fight for Pacquiao. He will box circles around Lucas. The odds on this are as if the oddsmakers didn’t actually see LMM’s last fight and are just going off the result.

Pretty much how I feel.

Those narrow 1-2 odds favoring Pacquiao are quite generous to Matthysse.

Really, the Argentine hasn't shown all that much since being exposed by Garcia some years back.

He can punch, but he's never been that solid an all-around fighter.

Pacquaio won't slug with him. He'll simply use hand speed and the big edge in all around quickness to leave Matthysse flustered.

Can Pacquiao's year long layoff and age make him vulnerable.?

Of course. That partially explains the close odds.

But reports say that Pac has put in the hard work in training that's necessary to offset some of the potential negatives.

As long as most of the uncanny quickness remains and his stamina hasn't deserted him, Pacquiao should be a convincing winner.

Going against the odds and picking Matthysse. Hopefully he’ll be able to make manny work. He seems to have a style which would force you to work. Hopefully doesn’t get too put off by those angles and feints of Mannys and just goes to work. Because I haven’t seen manny do much in his previous fights other than cruise control.

Of course if he loses I have a number of excuses up my sleeve such as it’s in Malaysia and manny isn’t being drug tested aside from a post fight urine sample

I'd say, this fight's outcome is pretty hard to be predicted. Of course, Pac is past prime, but he still got it. Matthysse obviously was never of Pac's level, he had some troublesome times, but now he's likely to be back and be dangerous again. A lot depends on the shape of Manny.

Pacquiao looked good in Horn fight, at least for his age, at least better, than Horn. Pac won that bout, he was clearly robbed. I believe, in that shape Pac would have handled Matthysse. But a year has passed and that's not a small term, escpecially for the fighter of almost 40 years old. Pac can be rusty and declined even more.

Manny has been caught for several times through his career and now there are more chances for his opponents to land clean. Matthysse can land bombs for sure. So, the big quesrtion is will Pac be able to avoid dangeorous stuff through the fight. Does he have enough of speed and reflexes to deal with Lucas? I guess, Manny still can do it. I predict a decision win for Manny, but not so wide. And I give Matthysse real chances of timing a bomb, so I won't be surprides, if Lucas catches Manny.

By the way, I want this fight to be Manny's last. If he loses it, it'll be the most clear sign. If he wins, it can be inspired to continue, but he anyway will get no more chances against the best guys with such win. So, it will be good, if this fight becomes his last hurrah and he take it as an appropriate conclusion of the career, without following possible illusions.

Anyone watching? Bin is getting worked over by triple c (lol). Good action but I just wish these smaller guys had more power. Wonder how the cards will be. CCC should be up.

I didn't get any notifications for some reason. Secondly, you push out statements filled with speculation. Pacquiao barely understands English and has barely any education. I wouldn't be surprised if he is awful at paperwork. We don't know who does his taxes or anything.

Do you know how Pacquiao does his taxes? If not, you're just speculating. Hell, I remember Rosado talking about his manager always reminding him to do his taxes. The guy has little interest in such things, and I'd guess if it wasn't for his manager he'd probably be in the same situation as Pacquiao.

Being an adulterer=/=being a bad person at all. It doesn't change what he's done for his people. Such a silly statement filled with emotional hate. You have no facts but speculation.

Would be great. Undercard was underwhelming as hell! Great to see a free Pacquiao fight, though.
