Can anyone recognise this book?

Post by Boxingnut »

I am trying to recall a book I once owned. It was a bit like Boxing Babylon by Nigel Collins, there was a lot of content about former champs who had fell on hard times. I remember a chapter about a boxer who was living in poverty and cut his hand trying to open a can of food with his bare hands. Can anyone recall this book at all please?

I get my books mixed up these days but you weren't thinking about In This Corner by Peter Heller?

As an aside if you like that kinda book I'd recommend Tris Dixon's Boxing Wastelands book if you haven't read it. It was much better than I thought it would be having read his book on Mayweather first.

Saw it in the library years ago. Dirt digging material and the cover put me off, so I borrowed Four Kings by George Kimball instead.

Think I made the wrong choice as Kimball's book was very forgettable.
