RIP George Bowes

One of the North East's unsung heroes, George Bowes, has passed away at the age of 81. George was good enough to challenge for British and Commonwealth titles as a bantamweight pro but is best remembered as a trainer of the likes of Billy Hardy, the Feeney brothers, Stuart Lithgo and too many others to mention. He was boxing in Hartlepool.
