Corrections to Record - Billy McAnally
A few corrections need to be made to Billy McAnally's career record. Billy McAnally NEVER lost a fight at Leichhardt Stadium. Fights against Bill Wooller and Young Heeney were both won on points. The 1932 Fight against Cocoa (Peter) Jackson was a draw NOT a loss. And the 1933 fight (Newtown Stadium) with Bobby Rivers was not a win to Rivers...I would appreciate his record being updated with these corrections (and obviously you will need to alter the aforementioned fighters records also) Many thanks. Ross McAnally aka Mick. Billy's Son.

Re: Corrections to Record - Billy McAnally
If I can find articles or boxing records from Australian Sites -(or Australian history books), to substantiate what I am stating, How do I submit them (I realize that some of these details are in various newspaper publications--but this does not make them 100% accurate either). Also Billy McAnally had 39 professional fights and his record only shows 27 fights (for the record he had 30 wins 2 draws and 7 losses this is what we know to be true) . He fought in Newcastle NSW Australia and there are no fights recorded at all. There is an article/extract from Sydney Maritime Worker journal dated 7-6-1955 written by Alderman Ron Maxwell which might shed more light on the subject. I also have a scrapbook I need to look at for publications and dates. Thank you for your prompt search efforts thus far, I understand that you need solid evidence before you can go in and change a person's record.
Re: Corrections to Record - Billy McAnally
A record book, or anecdotal stuff written years later, is not going to supersede results reported in a newspaper contemporaneously covering matches. You are going to need another newspaper to report the results in a different way, to even get us to consider changing anything. I would suggest moving on.

If that scrapbook includes contemporary newspaper articles on currently missing shows in Newcastle, NSW, though...
Those us editors would be very interested in seeing.
