Hughie Fury v Pulev
Hughie Fury v Pulev
It's looking likely that Hughie will be facing Pulev in an eliminator for the IBF title after Jarrell Miller couldn't agree terms. How does everyone see this going? Will Hughie be ok travelling to Sofia for the fight or will it go to purse bids again? I think big Mick must've blew his wad on the Parker fight so it'll more than likely be in Bulgaria if it's a goer.
Who wins this one?

Hope it happens but lets be honest it won't.
Re: Hughie Fury v Pulev
Where else does Hughie go? Chisora maybe? Can't see him wanting to defend British against Joyce, Dubois or Gorman..... Might as well take an eliminator.

He should but lets be honest, what are his chances of going to Bulgaria? I'm expecting an average Euro journeyman to be next for Hughie, someone like Franz Rill or something like that. One thing's for sure, he won't defend his British title as there is too much competition there.
Re: Hughie Fury v Pulev
Wouldn't be surprised if you're right mate! Pulev seems to have a bit of money behind him so can't see the fight being anywhere else other than Bulgaria so that might throw a spanner in the works. Interesting fight though so fingers crossed.African Monkey wrote: ↑11 Jul 2018, 07:15He should but lets be honest, what are his chances of going to Bulgaria? Yeah, kind of funny at the same time time that the IBF can't find anyone willing to go to Bulgaria. From the rankings, I could only see Teper or Dinu taking the fight.Stuarty wrote: ↑11 Jul 2018, 07:18Wouldn't be surprised if you're right mate! Re: Hughie Fury v Pulev
Hughie would be mad to not take this fight IMO.
Dont think a loss to Pulev in Bulgaria will damage his non existent 'stock' - especially if the fight is competitive.
And a win guarantees an IBF title shot?? Its a no brainer for me.

Re: Hughie Fury v Pulev
I’d like to see this. If it went to bids you’d assume they would bid an amount that would pay U-E a lot more than what he’d be earning for defending his British. Plus when Pulev wins it would put to bed these plonkers who think U-E would box Joshua’s head off.
Re: Hughie Fury v Pulev
see the purse bids for pulev they not kinda fake in the sense that the opponent only gets a couple of hundred thousand so in theory that is all the backers need.

Now, now, you two
Huggie Mk11 (The Huginator) is the biz. No way is the 2018 Pulev gonna catch him. He floats like a butter chicken and stings like wees

Hughie wouldn't even go to New Zealand.

Re: Hughie Fury v Pulev
would prob be an awful fight. just jabs here and there and feints/waving around of the lead hand all night
Re: Hughie Fury v Pulev
It's a real long flight, ya can't blame him too much. Plus he could have suffered Deep Boil Thromburstus
Re: Hughie Fury v Pulev
It is quite funny how nobody is willing to face Pulev even when there is mandatory spot to huge payday available as price.
Pulev the most avoided HW currently

Re: Hughie Fury v Pulev
And he's a good option for Hughie, cause Hughie has already blown his title opportunity. But he's young and needs good fights, which will help him to grow. Pulev can provide such a challenge. If Fury wins, that will be a very good scalp.

Re: Hughie Fury v Pulev
Think Hughie is talented and fresh enough to win clearly even away from home. Pulev is good at what he does, this has 12 rounds written all over it but Pulev is now 37. Obviously Hughie has to put a bit more spite in his work or else he's gonna get outpointed. I think this is a really good opportunity for Hughie, given the lack of backing/money behind him, and coming off what happened with Parker last year. If he beats Pulev what sort of mandatory position does he earn - is he definitely in line for a world title shot or is this just one of those eliminators that don't actually guarantee you a title shot ?
