Saunders vs Andrade

Post by smiling assassin »

Fights been ordered by the WBO. Very good fight, both got skills in abundance. Neither fighter has been active but Andrade been out the ring since October so might be abit of an advantage to Saunders. I think Saunders takes it on points in a close fight and sets up the big showdown with GGG.

Saunders is firmly back in the "I don't give a fck" club again. I was like that with him with all the bs after he beat Lee, then he looked to have redeemed himself but nope, right back there again. TBH I hope he gets knocked off his perch now

Saunders needs the belt to get the big fight with either GGG or Canelo and I don't think Andrade will turn down this opportunity for a world title. I know what you mean though mate any fight with Saunders in always gives over the feeling that it might not happen

Same. Would love to see it tho, he's a big skilful lad Andrade, could be a very tricky night for Saunders.

Rumours he is going to Matchroom USA which could be interesting if it goes to purse bids

andrade has been very difficult on the business side before. pulled out of a mandatory shot at charlo, pulled out of another fight that wouldve gotten him a shot at lara. already on film saying he wouldnt fight saunders.

he even just got dropped by hbo i think for being difficult. dont be surprised if somehow this doesnt happen

well andrade certanly doesnt fit the bill of a guy who wants to fight. look at his pullouts and inactivity.

btw, a lot of ppl seem super impressed by andrade, but what fights are those? i saw him vs vanes and culcay and he didnt really look that hot

I read somewhere that Warren had the O2 booked for late September? No reason therefore why this fight couldn’t headline that if they really wanted to make it. It’s a great fight but if Saunders won’t fight Murray, then is he going to fight Andrade ? Doubtful.

A promoter’s dream this one...two inactive guys who have to be coaxed into the ring every time. Will believe it when it happens.

Who gives a monkeys about BJS, he’s more of an internet bully than a world champion.

I think this has thrown a big spanner in the works for whatever Frank and BjS were planning in September.

It's a really good fight but I don't think it's one that will sell all that well - it's certainly not big enough to sell out the O2 without some big big fights on the undercard.

I think Matchroom will be talking with Andrade and pushing him for purse bids and I'd then think both Matchroom and FW will bid big for it. The only way FW will be able to afford it is if they do a combo PPV and align it with Canelo v Golovkin. I reckon we'll be looking at c. $1.5 - $2m in purse bids at least.

Saunders gets 75% in a purse bid. There's no realistc way Frank can be beaten in a bid- expect a deal to be done, or Andrade pulls out of the mandatory.

They certainly shouldn’t lose a purse bid but it’ll be interesting to see whether Matchroom are serious about it. What is it they get per show $8mish!? It’d be a big statement of intent and also having BJS on Sky would be a big coup for EH.

That’s clearly BS - no way there’s that money for anything other then major events which this wouldn’t be. It’s also the reason, no major fighters have officially signed on or shown genuine interest in doing so.
