Okolie v Askin close...

Post by Stuarty »

Apparently Okolie v Askin is closer to being made after purse bids were ordered by the 8th of August. Love this fight. Okolie will start favourite but Askin is certainly no mug and is enjoying a good run after nearly packing it in. He'll be far and away Okolies hardest opponent to date. How does everyone see it going?

Not sold on Okolie at all. Think Askin might have enough experience to box his way to a points win

I'd favour Askin here, Okolie hasn't fought anyone of his calibre and experience yet and Askin carries far more power than his previous opponents.

Would love to see Askin get the W here! Always had a soft spot for him and Okolie comes across a bit of a tool...

would love this

okolie won easy enough vs chamberlin and watkins but askins is at another level to those two, and esp a lot better then watkins

i dont mind oko, seems okay to me (havent watched all his interviews though) and i like how hes been matched

Askin doesn’t come across as a puncher but since the loss to McKenzie he’s had a lot of ko wins. Early ko wins too.

Great fight this one.

Could be good odds on Askin to win this one.
He’s already at European level IMO Askin.
Huge step-up for Okolie but he seems a confident lad.
Very good fight.

I do, think he's got something about him. Askin is a decent test tho.

Okolie keeps impressing me in and out of the ring.

My immediate reaction to this fight is "Close bout" but I've thought that about Okolie's last two fights too.

Plus he's a vegan and, even though I'm not even a vegetarian, I have maximum respect for people with the discipline to maintain that lifestyle.

As long as they don't keep banging on about it :OhYes:

I’ve been impressed with Askin of late and he is much improved from his defeats now in the distant past .

I really hope this fight can be made but feel Okolie and his team may delay and choose a different route to progress.
Askin for me in a great fight should it get the go ahead.

Really good fight if this happens. Askin has been looking great recently but Okolie is massive at the weight, has good power and I think will have a difficult style to beat. I would have thought they’d want one or two more before fighting Askin but let’s see what happens.
