I thought Joey Dawejko and Andy Ruiz are boxer for there size and body type. Juan DIaz was pretty decent to me as well had good stamina and jab for looking a little pudgy.

Slick boxers who are unathletic? Some athletes don't look athletic, and some athletes may be carrying around excess weight, but i think it's safe to say any "slick" boxer is athletic.
Re: Successful unathletic slick boxers
I'm not talking about looks. Even though it's rare, it is possible because slick doesn't mean athletic. A boxer can be slick based off of skill vs athleticism. They're not always related. Andre Berto was athletic but wasn't slick. Winky Wright is very slick but isn't as athletic compared to his peers. Hopkins for the latter part of his career was more slick than he was athletic. Ward is more slick than he is athletic.

Re: Successful unathletic slick boxers
when slick is used in boxing i take it to mean a guy who is defensively good and therefore hard to hit
bhops a really good example of what the op means by slick but not really having standout raw tools like really fast hands, rapid feet, or a big punch (esp at 175, at 160 he had some power). compare him to his twice opponent jean pascal, who was really fast and explosive and would often rock opponents (including hop) with explosive multi punch combos, but wasnt really refined or hard to hit
many times hopkins visually didnt look all that explosive or impressive, defo not in the way someone like roy jones did (another hop opponent) but he sure as hell knew he way around the ring and what to do at the right times

Being exceptionally good doesn't mean that they're more athletic. Larry Bird was better and more skilled player than Dominique Wilkins but wasn't more athletic.x2x wrote: ↑15 Jul 2018, 22:43 IK - I think u r getting confused with verbiage, or confusing me, or something...
