Prospect Alexy Egorov vs Lateef Kayode

Post by chuck9788 »

Russian cruiserweight Alexy Egorov (5-0, 4 KO's) makes his USA debut in California on Friday night when he faces former world title challenger Lateef Kayode (21-3, 16 KO's).

Is this guy going to mow Kayode down?? Seems like Egorov wants to take the fast track towards a world title shot. Are any of you familiar with this fighter?

i saw him fight luther smith, seemed strong but a bit unfluid, at that level it was easy work but he didnt really impress me a great deal, would like to see him in a longer fight wherevtheres some more coming back at him to get a better idea, ill try to check out his other fights

kayode though, my god he looks awful these days. its painful to watch him try to throw punches

Check him against Carlos Nacimiento.

He ticks all the top prospect boxes. He gets wild and wide at times so it's basically going to come down to his chin and stamina. He's got clubbing power, but I don't think he has the speed to be a real knockout artist at the top so his ability to keep pressuring and throwing heavy shots while absorbing some punishment will dictate his career.

Kayode is past prime, but still KO artist which can be dangerous for a man with only 5 pro fights. But Egorov has some APB bouts so it counts too. If he can handle Kayode, then he could fight Andrew Tabiti and we could see who can be threat to WBSS winner later this year

Egorov is a legit top prospect...should be an interesting step up for him. Although Kayode is past his peak he is easily the best Egorov has faced!!

Egorov is a beast. I'd expect a short night.
