Will Liam "Beefy" Smith defeat Jaime Munguia?

Post by chuck9788 »

I'm planning to attend this fight on Saturday night at the Hard Rock.

Jaime Munguia (29-0, 25 KO's) vs Liam Smith (26-1, 14 KO's) for the WBO Super Welterweight championship.

Who do you like in this match up?

Munguia by mid round stoppage.

A future star developing before our eyes.

Smith is a tough, durable but overall ordinary fighter.

He took a lot of punishment from Canelo but hung in there until body shots finally did him in.

While Munguia isn't at Canelo's level of development, he's a young, aggressive and very accurate hard puncher.

Once Smith starts to sample Munguia's onslaught, I wonder if he'll show the same resistance he did when he was an unbeaten champion.

Any fire still in his belly may get doused quickly.

Munguia looks really promising. Gigantic upset if Smith defeats him, but I think Munguia breaks him in half like he did Sadam Ali.

i think munguia will win but beating up an at best b level welter who already got beaten around and knocked out by jessie vargas isnt a really a monster win that says sure thing star level fighter. he looks good but still has lots to prove.

Agree. He has lots to prove, and hopefully the durability of Beefy will allow us to see more of Munguia. I didn't really rate Ali, not saying Munguia's win was diminished because of it, just that it's hard to really see where he is at by such a brief demo job.

I think Ali beats Smith relatively easy

just not jessie vargas though. couldnt even last the distance with him. vargas has hardly stopped anyone else of note but he f@cking trashed ali

would anyone rate munguia beating vargas? i mean, if beating ali was some super impressive, breakout star win, surely beating vargas would be even better
