Womens Heavyweight Boxing Tournament

Post by bennyaha1 »

Hey guys I havent posted her for a while as been busy plus off and on battle with cancer for the passed 3 years

anyway as all you know i am a big advocate for women boxing
Recently Craig Thomson in New Zealand decided to promote his second 8 person tournament
first one was very successful
This time he is doing women boxing and in the heavyweight division

He also reached a deal with the IBF that the winner of the eight Women heavyweight tournament will become the mandatory challenger of the IBF World title in the heavyweight division

What do people think?
I am very excited especially since women heavyweight boxing is booming in New Zealand at the moment

Good luck with it and the cancer treatment. But women's heavyweight boxing is not my bag at all.

its hard enough to find women who are natural light middles, let alone heavyweights. so usually its a bunch of lardy ladies

It's not about Women's boxing because at the elite level I find the fights fantastic. But I haven't seen one skillfull women's heavyweight. Thats the problem here

 you haven't seen our Pacific island and Maori ladies, Jammy.
I don't know that the quality of the female heavyweights will be up to much from a boxing perspective.
Out of the 4 ladies from New Zealand, none are even at an Oceania level, maybe one of the Daniels. While I am a supporter of woman's boxing, the actual quality of the fighters in this competition is atrocious.

Spot on. Some of the lesser weight girls turn up in great shape and demonstrate good technique. Not so the bigger girls. At least the ones I've seen anyway.
