PHILADELPHIA, Penn. / ORANGE, Calif. (July 16, 2018) - Undefeated lightweight Zhora Hamazaryan (9-0, 6 KOs) has been preparing for his battle with fellow undefeated Thomas Mattice that will be part of a ShoBox: the New Generation tripleheader that will take place on Friday, July 20th at The WinnaVegas Casino Hotel in Sloan, Iowa.
The broadcast on SHOWTIME® will begin at 10 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast).
"Training has been very good so far," said the 22 year-old Hamazaryan, originally from Gyumri, Armenia, and is now training out of Los Angeles. "I am excited and happy to show my talents on American Television."
Hamazaryan will be making his second start on American soil, and he has not scouted his undefeated foe.
"I do not know much about Mattice," said Hamazaryan, who is trained by former lightweight pro Jerry Rosenberg. "I prefer to not look at any tape of my opponents. I look at this as just another fight. I want to get in there, win the fight, take care of business, and move on to the next one."
Hamazaryan looks to make a big splash, and become a big star in The United States.
"I am going to get this fight out of the way, and on to bigger fights here in the States."
Hamazaryan is promoted by Banner Promotions and Thompson Boxing.
Tickets for the show, which is promoted by GH3 Promotions, Victory Promotions, Ringside Ticket Inc., Banner Promotions & Thompson Boxing are priced from $10-$60 and can be purchased at winnavegas.com.

Re: Zhora Hamazaryan Camp Notes
Dont take Mattice lightly on this one!! Not only does he have a good amateur resume (like Hamazaryan) but has fought tougher competition as a pro!!

Just a few months ago, the 12-0 Mattice won a 7th-round TKO of once-beaten hot prospect Rolando Chinea on SHOBOX:
Brilliant finisher!!

Re: Zhora Hamazaryan Camp Notes
mattice looked like sh!t for most of that fight, was getting beaten up by a very crude fighter, he rightfully looked massively relieved when he got the stoppage

Re: Zhora Hamazaryan Camp Notes
One of the best finishes you'll see. Let's see how he does vs Hamazaryan before you bag on Mattice too much.
Re: Zhora Hamazaryan Camp Notes
im just stating the truth about how he looked in that particular fight , and bagging on him too much would be rehashing the same tired point over and over again (which some posters are great at LOL) not mentioning 1 time how mattice looked
i have no idea about his opponent here

Re: Zhora Hamazaryan Camp Notes
There is NOTHING that Hamazaryan's camp could have done to prevent this horrendously bad decision that Zhora suffered. The Armenian scored a solid knockdown in the 2nd and went on to dominate the action for most of the rest of the fight.
Hamazaryan won at least 5 rounds, maybe 6. With the knockdown that should have given him a 77-74 or 78-73 win instead of the ridiculous loss he had.

Worst robbery I've seen so far this year.
Poor guy. I hope there is some sort of investigation. One judge had pretty much what I thought was a fair call, the other two must have mixed up the names or something.

It seemed like it was either blatant corruption or shocking negligence. You pick.
"Judges" Mike Contreras and Jeff Sinnett are complete disgraces to the sport of boxing.
