Jaron Ennis vs Amando Alvarez

Post by handsofstone »

Shobox action this Friday on allegedly, 2 unbeaten American Welterweights, never heard of either, was having a look through their records, Ennis is unbeaten in 20(18ko) and Alvarez is 18-0(12ko) so could be a tasty wee scrap fair play for matching them this early, Alvarez has no notable names on his record but Ennis has early KOs over MIke Arnaoutis and Samuel Amoako who some might remember Lee McAllister beating to win the Commonwealth Lightweight title years ago

Set this to record. Will watch on Sat. Don't know anything about either guy but on paper it could be a good one :TU:

Ennis destroys Alvarez in 3 rounds putting him down 4 times in the process, that was a long short night for Alvarez he just couldn't deal with the speed of Ennis and it was one way traffic all the way, Ennis had him down for the first time in the 3rd round courtesy of a lovely left hook, Alvarez was down again this time from a left hook to the body, the third KD was a cracking combo, left jab/right uppercut/left hook, the ref probably could've stopped in there and then but Alvarez to his credit didn't look too bad and was willing to carry on, finally after Ennis put Alvarez down with a right to the body the ref stopped it

Bit of a demolition job by Ennis I like the look of him, he's lightening quick, sharp, obviously very heavy handed, he switch hits comfortably, nice footwork and going by the different types of knockdowns he scored he's got a lot of tricks up his sleeve, clearly still a bit to go bit he has the style where I can imagine him fighting at the top level one day

Really enjoyed watching Ennis. Great footwork and hand speed. Leaves himself open when leaping in with hooks and unfortunately is another fighter who tries this Mayweather shoulder roll at times but has the speed and movement to get himself out of trouble. Only 21. If he keeps his head down and listens then yeah I agree he could fight at the top level in the next couple of years. Hopefully they match him well. Looking forward to seeing him again :TU:
