Jaime by brutal KO. I hope!

Same as other people. Paul Smith BS will be unbearable if Liam wins.

I would think he'll hang in there with Munguia too. Perhaps stopped late.

Munguia is hardly the seasoned fighter that Canelo is.

It might be more difficult for the Mexican than most predict.

A dominating and quick performance by Munguia stamps him as a star.
I'm actually hoping that Smith's durability holds up so we can get a good look at Munguia through a few more rounds. Like Jammy, I'm reserving my opinion of Munguia for now, until I see more of him.
Admittedly, for a young guy, he has "real deal" potential.

The only bits of Munguia ive seen was highlights of him destroying Ali, he looks insanely strong and the way he was jerking Ali's head without loading up should be giving Smith the fear, Munguia looks fvcking humungous

I thought Smith drew the Williams rematch, he wasn't great but he did show more of a boxing side than usual and i'd imagine that's gotta be the same tactics against Munguia, Smith fight well on the inside and throws a wicked body shot but i'd advise him to stay well away from Munguia and try box on the outside, hopefully Munguia's a bit crude?? The punch variety against Ali suggests otherwise mind

Who knows? Beefy's a tough cookie and loves a tear up but whatever gameplan he comes up with I can see him getting stopped from a dangerous hombre

I had the Smith Williams rematch going either way. Draw would've been fair. They two have unfinished business...

Munguia's destruction of Ali impressed the oddsmakers.

The Mexican champion is a strong 1-7 favorite to dispose of Smith.

If I remember correctly, Canelo was about 1-10 over Smith

I loved the way Munguia fought against Ali but I still would be happy if Smiff won. I like both fighters.

Smiff winning would make things interesting in the UK while Munguia winning (& besting Canelo's result) would make him a BIG name in an exciting division in North America.

Will be interesting to see how the fight pans out if Smiff is still fresh after the halfway point. Hopefully I get home in time to watch it.

Anyone know what time it starts?

i did, i dont think the us crowd cares enough or knows about liam smith enough for even a dominant win over him to be what makes munguia a BIG name there. smiths us exposure is in losing every round and being dropped a bunch and then stopped by a cruise control canelo, imo just not formidable enough for the us ppl to explode with attention for munguia even if mung bombs smith out

Not much interest in this one?

I’m Surprised - it looks a great fight: the young untested puncher who’s come upon a title very early in his career, against the tough seasoned ex title holder.

I watched the Mexican win his title and he looks a beast, But looking at his record he’s been knocking over tomato cans, until he got to Ali, who while brave as hell, is not exactly the sturdiest.

Smith takes a good shot - and it looks like he’ll need to - but the Mexican is very inexperienced and very open to counters - and if you doesn’t get rid of the Liverpudlian early, it could get very very interesting. Smith has a mean streak and he might not think he’s finished just yet..

a lot of people seem to be writing Smith off with no chance, and I must admit he looked a bit uncertain at the press conference (??) but I’m really looking forward to this one - let’s see how good Munguia really is.

Dunno who I want to win this. I usually go for the Brit but I'm not the biggest fan of the Smiths. Would be a really good win for Liam and if he does get the nod he'll have to come through a few sticky moments. Never been the hardest to hit but has a solid chin and can scrap it out. Not staying up but I've set it to record. Should be good :TU:

The perfect paper record.

Yeah Smith is hard to like, I never warmed to him with all that smirking while he battered overmatched opponents, but got to give him his dues, he’s shown balls with taking on the 2 Mexicans in the US.

He looks a bit subdued in the build up, hopefully he’s looking to catch the overconfident Munguia a bit unprepared ..

I don’t have any of the channels these days, can’t stand Sky and BN is shot, and not got around to BT yet, my dad has it though so I’ll tune in and watch it tomorrow morning on my lap top hooked up to TV

Fair points mate. Most of the Smiths are hard to like. Callum seems ok tbf.

It's near impossible to keep up with all the channels that show boxing now!

Wanted Smith to get battered when this fight was first announced, but now its almost here I've mellowed a bit and would like to see Liam do well, and a win shouldn't be totally out of the question either.
TBH I`ve quite liked his demeanor in the build-up,confident but with a little humility for a change.
As a Boxing fan it`s win/win -Smith win would be great for British Boxing,a Munguia win helps him emerge as a new star in World Boxing.

I wonder if all is well with FW. He wasn’t at the recent Irish show with Conlan and isn’t going over with Beefy this week.

Hopefully I’m just reading too much in to it but it’s unlike him.

Agreed. Smirking at overmatched opponents plus the tediously annoying Paul Smith means I just can't root for him here. His conduct around the Williams fights and even the jimmy Kelly fight was also poor. Gotta hope for a humbling brutal KO by Munguia.

Don't get the issue with him smirking, he clearly loves a fight. Hope he wins but can see Munguia getting the ko around half way.
