Remember....Usyk will defeat Joshua.............
I really think so..............
Re: Remember....Usyk will defeat Joshua.............
Called it long ago. Now I'm expecting to see the bandwagon since this fight. It was written long ago. Usyk was always the future of the HW division. His reign will be phenomenal.
Re: Remember....Usyk will defeat Joshua.............
He has real chances to do it, I'd say.
Re: Remember....Usyk will defeat Joshua.............
..Joshua is of course a different kettle of fish..Gassiev looked like a limited slugger today..

If Usyk has a chin that can take a world class heavyweight punch then yeh he could potentially beat Joshua. Still need the answer to that question though.
Re: Remember....Usyk will defeat Joshua.............
Did he say anything about moving up in the post fight interview?

Re: Remember....Usyk will defeat Joshua.............
Usyk has a shot so I wont rule him out, but I give him about 25-30% to beat Joshua who is too big, with just too much of a height and reach advantage. After a master class outing like today by Usyk it's not surprising that so many are jumping on the Usyk > Joshua bandwagon, but it's a HUGE jump from Gassiev to Joshua and I dont just mean in terms of size.
I also dont rule out the possibility that if Usyk dominates 2-3 top-notch heavyweights before facing Joshua that AJ and Hearn will find a good reason NOT to fight Usyk (early retirement, etc)

Gassiev hits as hard as a world class HW, so does Briedis. You got the answer twice over, but you don't want to admit it.marvelous marv wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 18:33 If Usyk has a chin that can take a world class heavyweight punch then yeh he could potentially beat Joshua. Re: Remember....Usyk will defeat Joshua.............
He will most likely be able to avoid it. Actually Parker did that, so Usyk really can do it.marvelous marv wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 18:33 If Usyk has a chin that can take a world class heavyweight punch then yeh he could potentially beat Joshua. Still need the answer to that question though.
Re: Remember....Usyk will defeat Joshua.............
It's not a huge jump at all. Gassiev is a CW that can make HW, easily. Usyk was schooling big guys like Joshua, arguably better fighters too, in the amateurs and WSB. It's going to be easier for Usyk at HW than at CW.Best Coast wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 18:34 Usyk has a shot so I wont rule him out, but I give him about 25-30% to beat Joshua who is too big, with just too much of a height and reach advantage. Re: Remember....Usyk will defeat Joshua.............
Maris Breidis gave Usyk FAR more problems than Gassiev did: 113-115, 114-114, 113-115.
Usyk's sheer domination of Gassiev is fresh in everyone's mind because it just happened.
Re: Remember....Usyk will defeat Joshua.............
Guys like Briedis give Usyk fits. That's his weakness. One of the reasons why I don't outright favor Usyk over Haye at CW.Best Coast wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 18:43Maris Breidis gave Usyk FAR more problems than Gassiev did: 113-115, 114-114, 113-115.

Athletic guys that are his size are Usyk's kryptonite. Already knew that, which is why I wanted very much for Usyk to move up to HW quickly.

Just now, Usyk is the only absolutely dominant champion in his division. Crawford has been dominant at LWW last year, but I doubt he will be so successful at WW (it will be very difficult for him to beat Spence). Lomachenko will have to beat Mikey to prove the same at LWW (if Loma had stayed at SFW he would have been the dominant champion, too). I have to mention Prograis, too, but honestly speaking the competition at LWW is pretty weak nowadays.
I feel that Fury will be more dangerous for Usyk than Joshua or Wilder at HW.

On paper it's not hard to postulate how Usyk can handle Joshua, but that's why boxing matches are always fought IN THE RING and not on paper.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑21 Jul 2018, 18:37It's not a huge jump at all. Until we SEE Joshua and Usyk actually fight each other in the ring, everything else is just words and speculation!!
TIME will tell, once they step into the ring, IF it turns out that they do. Speculation makes sports more fun. but it's STILL just speculation until it actually happens.

He's too small and doesn't have the power to hurt AJ and keep him at bay, also it appears he doesn't like getting hit, AJ can hit.
Re: Remember....Usyk will defeat Joshua.............
Nobody likes getting hit. Usyk had shown he has a granite chin though. He's been caught flush by power punchers and not even reacted.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 04:50 He's too small and doesn't have the power to hurt AJ and keep him at bay, also it appears he doesn't like getting hit, AJ can hit.

AJ is a different level though, he's very powerful and he's got a serious dig.Verdi wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 05:06Nobody likes getting hit. Usyk had shown he has a granite chin though. The bandwagon is well and truly rolling.
Joshua too big and hits too hard v Usyk. He boxed well last night against a very one dimensional Gassiev, but the only one who was rocked was Usyk when one right hand landed. If he were to meet Joshua they'd trade at some point and it's over for Usyk.
