Wilder is a Pussy
Wilder is a Pussy
I use to be a big fan, then I lost patience with his slow ascent. Finally he started fighting a few real fighters, but now he's scared pooless to fight Joshua. Him demanding parity is a disgrace.

Hey, it slmost worked for Golovkin.
Why can't Wilder get the same opportunity?

Re: Wilder is a Pussy
golovkin demanded 50-50 and then ended up with like 42 or 45, canelo was extremely generous
Re: Wilder is a Pussy
GGG should have gotten more than Canelo in my opinion. GGG wasn't shutout by Mayweather notwithstanding the female judge who had a crush on him.

GGG reportedly ended up with 45% for CANELO vs GGG 2

^^^^^^^^
That's what I mean, Tony.
Golovkin signed for 35% and then began demanding an even split after the Cinco de Mayo match was cancelled.
He didn't get that 50/50, but Golovkin came close with 45%.
Don't you think Wilder is doing the same negotiating ploy? Asking for parity but in the end will accept something less, but it will be far more than the original offer.
Re: Wilder is a Pussy
I don't think of Wilder as a champion, I'd call him a minor beltholder. A champion should defend the title against an appropriate opposition. Wilder obviously doesn't do that often. His WBC belt is like WBO in the 90s.
Re: Wilder is a Pussy
I personally think Wilder should get a split and a rematch clause, forcing him to take a flat fee and forgoe the rematch is Eddie flexing his promotional muscle.
Not saying he deserves 50% but 35-40% is pretty reasonable.
I feel the fight is close to getting agreed, provided they both win next I can't see anything other than Joshua vs Wilder in April.

Re: Wilder is a Pussy
Golovkin fills arenas and is well known around the world, while Wilder needs to give away free tickets. Also, Canelo needs a rematch due to the clenbuterol situation. Even formal status wise: Golovkin has a bunch of belts, while Wilder has fewer belts than Joshua.
Wilder is nowhere near Golovkin in negotiation power.

Re: Wilder is a Pussy
All the muck around regarding making the fight is a smoke screen to hide the fact that Wilder does not have the power to choose his opponents.
Look who he fights.
Look at how he almost lost to old man Ortiz. His handlers don't want to risk him against anyone of that level again! And Joshua is levels above Ortiz.
Wilders belt is being held to ransom. Just like Rameriez and Stevenson.

Re: Wilder is a Pussy
AJ should knock the offer down ... offer him less ... maybe half what it was ...
Re: Wilder is a Pussy
I don't think Wilder is the issue tbh. Hearn has to shoulder a lot of the blame.
Re: Wilder is a Pussy
He is certainly playing hardball. 50/50 is indefensible but a flat £15m is perhaps a little harsh. I mean I recognize Wilder can't generate real money fighting anyone else, and yes it's conservatively five times what Wilder normally earns, i get that entirely, but at the same time this is THE FIGHT the whole of boxing wants to see. It's the missing piece of the puzzle (WBC belt), and Wilder is the one man AJ can fight who doesn't start as a prohibitive outsider in the betting if they were to meet in the next year.
That's what Wilder brings to the table: He offers Joshua the chance to underline his place in the lore of the Heavyweight division and the opportunity to participate in another potential career defining fight, and to become the undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the World.
Eddie will tell you that they have had to consistently overpay AJ's opposition from the get-go, so why stop now? Hearn will argue that is what he's doing in offering £15m, but I imagine this will do another 90,000 at Wembley and probably clear what the Klitschko fight did. I don't know what the figures were but I don't believe that £15m is likely to look that impressive in retrospect.
It won't damage you financially AJ to make Wilder an offer he cannot walk away from ... provided of course that you win ... and there's the nub.
AJ wants the fight no question, whereas Hearn recognizes it is a big risk, and there is no point paying a premium for the privilege of charging the artillery positions. i'm sure Eddie knows the fight will happen in due course. Delay will benefit AJ being the younger man, and they can continue winning title fights and making loads of money while they wait for Wilder to accept they are ultimately the only game in town.

Re: Wilder is a Pussy
Stupid talk. You step in the ring against any one. You could be raspberried or killed. Got to get paid always been like this .the boy can bang .i think they both get a good pay day
Re: Wilder is a Pussy
wilder moved slow as f@ck for many years and was rightfully treated as suspect, but over the last few his oppositions pretty much among the best few records in the division. a bunch of fringe contending types and then a top 5-ish type. im not so sure hes afraid rather then just strategically holding out or genuinely overestimating his worth with the 50-50 stuff. reality of it is these mega fights often taken a while.
and id say actually the fight is almost sure to be bigger next year or even early 2020, but thats as long as they keep winning of course. thats the risk for them when they fight other guys. of course we expect aj and wilder to win there next fights, but a surprise will be very costly.

Im sure both fighters want the fight to happen.
Of course, Wilder is not afraid.
Joshua has much more to lose than wilder at this point in their careers.

Re: Wilder is a Pussy
his opposition as champ really isnt that bad. hes fought a bunch of lower top 20 guys and one top 5 ish guy. breaezeale next would be lower top 10. there are a lot of other belt holders who arent really doing any better
doesnt stack up to ajs opposition but not really that bad. his opposition for the first 5-6 years of his career was needlessly terrible though.

Re: Wilder is a Pussy
His record is solid enough for a contender, not too shabby at all.jamamb wrote: ↑22 Jul 2018, 13:27 his opposition as champ really isnt that bad. hes fought a bunch of lower top 20 guys and one top 5 ish guy. breaezeale next would be lower top 10. there are a lot of other belt holders who arent really doing any better

The problem is that he isn't just a contender, he's a World Champion and as such his record is measured against a vastly different standard. What might be acceptible for Miller isn't acceptible for Wilder or Joshua. Champions are expected to fight the top contenders but only one of them seems interested in complying with expectations.
Re: Wilder is a Pussy
You're kidding, right? How clueless can someone be, ffs. A guy that gets caught doping, loses the first fight according to all the fans, and has a horrible reputation with the at the moment was being generous.
Re: Wilder is a Pussy
ya and that guy makes way more the ggg, without canelo ggg can make a mil or two, without ggg canelo can still make 8 figures
Re: Wilder is a Pussy
Without GGG, Canelo is not making anywhere near what he did in the first fight. Hell, he probably lost fans after testing positive.
You think he'll be making GGG money against O'Sullivan or Lemieux, get a life and a grip!
Re: Wilder is a Pussy
either way canelos making much more without ggg then gggs making without canelo
