Stoppage percentage =/= power. Since most are premature stoppages or standing stoppages.
In terms of concussive power (putting opponent's to sleep), Gassiev and Breidis have equal, or even greater power than AJ or Wilder.
AJ has never knocked out a single opponent like Gassiev knocked out Jordan Shimmell with a single punch.
AJ has never knocked out a single opponent as brutally as Breidis knocked out Manuel Charr.
Takam's face was rearranged by Joshua. But Takam was literally put to sleep by fat blown up cruiser weight / light heavyweight in Alexander Povetkin. So go figure!
Deontay Wilder failed to even drop Johann Duhaupas in 11 rounds. Fat, blown up light heavyweight / cruiser weight Alexander Povetkin put that same Duhaupas to sleep. So again, go figure!

What terrible logic.
Hardest hitters currently are Gassiev and Briedis? What on earth are you basing that on? The hardest hitters are Wilder and Joshua, and their records support that.
And I'll assume that you didn't see Takam's face after the Joshua fight. I would suggest how Takam's face was rearranged, Joshua is not as feather fisted as you think.

1) Since when is the number of people knocked unconscious the independent factor in defining power? Not to say the actual landing of concussive punches, which actually results in a stoppage.
2) I'm of the belief that if Joshua was fighting CWs, there would be a higher degree of 'unconscious' fighters. Unless of course the smaller the fighter gets, the more punch resistance they gain...
Fat, chubby, pudgy and blown up light heavyweight Alexander Povetkin put Carlos Takam to sleep and knocked him out unconscious whilst Takam was still in his prime. Whilst Joshua couldn't KO Takam unconscious, even a few years after Takam was already knocked out unconscious and even more faded / past his best than when he faced Povetkin. So spare me the idea that Joshua will KO more opponents unconscious if he was fighting cruiser weights.
Joshua has already faced cruiser weight sized heavyweights / small heavyweights. And even bums, some who are as big as your average cruiser weight and / or on the same level in terms of quality or at times, even worse. But Joshua to this day, has never KO'ed a single opponent totally unconscious. So what's the excuse here?
Joshua fought Denis Bakhtov. A fat, 5'11, blown up cruiser weight / light heavyweight. Couldn't even drop him in 2 rounds once, despite landing powerful punches. Needed a standing, premature TKO stoppage.
On the other hand, a 6 foot 0, cruiser weight sized / small heavyweight in Evgeny Romanov literally dropped the same Denis Bakhtov thrice in just the first round alone with seemingly arm punches. So if Joshua supposedly hits as hard as you claim or somehow hits significantly harder than cruiser weight power punchers like Gassiev or Breidis, then why couldn't he even KO those guys unconscious or at least, more brutally than those two small heavyweights / cruiser weight sized heavyweights did?
Answer: Joshua's power is overrated and he really doesn't hit that hard
If Joshua hit as hard as you claim, he wouldn't have failed to KO Takam unconscious when blown up light heavyweight Povetkin put a better version of Takam to sleep alreayd.
If Joshua hit as hard as you claim, he wouldn't have failed to drop Denis Bakhtov even once in 2 rounds, when small, 6 foot 0 light heavyweight / cruiser weight dropped the same Bakhtov thrice in just the first round.
If Joshua hit as hard as you claim, he wouldn't have failed to KO a single opponent unconscious (including bums and journeymen) once out of 21 fights.

You are aware that this Wladimir Klitschko was stopped multiple times before facing Joshua, and also in far less time / rounds by other boxers than what Joshua needed in order to prematurely TKO a weak chinned, old, washed up Wladimir Klitschko?
Even Corrie Sanders brutally stopped a prime Wladimir Klitschko in just 2 rounds over 10 years ago. So what's so impressive about Joshua prematurely stopping and TKO'ing a 41 year old, washed up, 2 year inactive Wladimir Klitschko? Exactly nothing!

I can't believe any of this.
We all know that if a) knocked b) out, but c) didn't, it doesn't tell you anything about a) compared to c).
GGG doesn't ko all his opponents cold but he hits hard for a mw and super hard for a lmw.
Joshua and Wilder hit hard for hws, you can't honestly believe that Gassiev and Briedis hit harder.
In some fights they may have got a great one punch shot, but single shot KOs are rare and especially so when you tower over an opponent who is looking to survive. Generally they happen when your opponent is swinging with you chin up.
When you're a 6'7 hw renowned for power, your opponents don't swing with you.
Usyks power wouldn't deter Wilder or Joshua AT ALL, and the advantages he has with skills wouldn't be enough to overcome the physical disparities to win either fight.
If he's as stupid as some of this thread, he'd go into a fight with AJ or Wilder thinking Gassiev hits harder(!), and would very quickly become aware that that is completely misguided.
I reiterate, I may be able to stay out of trouble to lose a decision, but that's as good as it gets.
You can go back to pretending Briedis and Gassiev are bigger punchers than the top HW boys if you want, it makes no difference.

After Wlad and Haye had been retired, Gassiev might be among the top 10, Briedis, too.
I claimed (and I claim) that Gassiev and Briedis are among the top 10 powerful punchers. Joshua, Wilder and Price are more powerful, I accept this. I would add Ortiz, too....Dubois (and I like him) is still too green, and didn't face any serious opponent.
Whyte, Parker and Povetkin are not more powerful (equal in the best case) than Gassiev and Briedis. Would you, please, list the others who are among top 10. Simply, I can not imagine anyone. Please, convince me the opposite, and I will admit that I am wrong.....BTW, I don't want to insult any poster, here on forum, including you.

Theres one point when the added weight doesnt make you more powerful, and it can be even detrimental in boxing mechanics and speed.
200 lbs is maybe the optimum point for both for most boxers.
So, by your logic, the more weight, the more punching power, right? ooook.
So Tyson fury and fat boxers should be knocking out guys with one single shot.

Secondly, Povetkin did not knock Takam unconscious. He knocked him flat out, but he was conscious.
If Breidis is such a devastating puncher, why does he only have a 75% KO ratio? And Gassiev only 73%? Why are these guys taken the distance against absolute Joe Nobody's?

Ok using this stupid logic, AJ weighs 250ish. So if any 190 fighter can punch as hard as a 250er, then that means any Welter can punch as hard as a cruiser and any minimumweight fighter can punch as hard as any welter fighter who can punch as hard as any cruiser who can punch as hard as any Heavyweight. You're logic is literally the dumbest I've heard of any boxing discussion ever
Fvck me this thread is shot of intelligence
Theres one point when the added weight doesnt make you more powerful, and it can be even detrimental in boxing mechanics and speed.
200 lbs is maybe the optimum point for both for most boxers.
So, by your logic, the more weight, the more punching power, right? ooook.
So Tyson fury and fat boxers should be knocking out guys with one single shot.
You didnt prove the contrary.
Pass certain point, more mass doesnt mean more ko or punching power.

To all people that think that cw version of Breidis (and Gassiev) punch harder than AJ and Wilder based on how Briedis ko over Charr i have to remind you that Briedis weight in that fight was 97kg. Its also to all these people who think that more mass doesnt mean more muscle - it means unless you get overweight or too much of unnecessary useless muscles that make you too stiff

They would I prove the contrary? You're the one making the utterly-imbecilic claim. What sort of idiot makes an unusual claim and when challenged, tell the other person to prove the contrary, whilst given not a single fact. You get thicker with every postFruitStealer wrote: ↑26 Jul 2018, 08:13Alright.danconnollyeire wrote: ↑26 Jul 2018, 07:42Complete an utter, well research, non-scientific, non-proven, non-factFruitStealer wrote: ↑26 Jul 2018, 06:44
Force=mass*acceleration

I agree, but partly. For me, the optimum point is 210-215 lbs.FruitStealer wrote: ↑26 Jul 2018, 06:44Force=mass*accelerationdanconnollyeire wrote: ↑26 Jul 2018, 06:27Ok using this stupid logic, AJ weighs 250ish.
