Re: Sam Soliman
Not sure why Sam is continuing? I know he loves fighting and will miss it when he does retire, but surely the time has come?

Re: Sam Soliman
After a few weeks delay, Sam “King” Soliman returns to action tomorrow night when he takes on Tej Pratap Singh at the Melbourne Pavilion.
“Training has been excellent and I am confident of victory against Singh. He defeated Wes Capper and Jake Carr so he will be a good test for me. This will be my last year in boxing so I want to go out a winner” - Sam Soliman.

Re: Sam Soliman
Sam Soliman defeated Pratap Singh by majority decision.
Soliman's comments post fight:
“Singh is a very tough boxer. I can understand now why he defeated my last opponent Wes Capper who has been rated by the IBF. Two of the Judges got the fight right last night and gave it to me by a wide margin. I’m 44 years now but I felt fresh throughout the ten rounds. This is my last year so I want to have more two more fights in next five months. Thank you to Team Soliman.”
Czar Amongsot beat his experienced former world titlist opponent by UD.

Re: Sam Soliman
Boxrec is now showing the Singh result as a No Contest not a Soliman win.
What happened?
Why has the result been overturned?

Re: Sam Soliman
I read that the overturned the decision as Singh scored 2 knockdowns in the last round that weren’t scored as knockdowns. Also he lost points during the fight for unruly conduct. I think he threw Sam to the canvas a couple of times. They were saying the ref was incompetent. From the highlights they looked like legitimate knockdowns but he did throw Sam down as well.
Re: Sam Soliman
I doubt it very much. I've absolutely NEVER EVER heard of a decision being overturned due to disputed knockdown calls, and there's certainly been disputed knockdown calls in the past.fox wrote: ↑22 Sep 2018, 18:06I read that the overturned the decision as Singh scored 2 knockdowns in the last round that weren’t scored as knockdowns. Re: Sam Soliman
The fact that the 44 year old Sam was sent to the canvas in the last round twice should be enough reason to call it quits!
Re: Sam Soliman
Singh’s coach put that up on Instagram. Seems strange but that’s why he said they changed the decision to a no contest. That’s just what he said.gilgamesh wrote: ↑22 Sep 2018, 21:30I doubt it very much. Re: Sam Soliman
It actually makes sense.
Usually results are only overturned for failed drug tests, verifiable corruption or obvious bad calls from refs.
Failed drug tests or proven corruption would have been reported all over the internet and since neither of those were reported getting overturned due to mistakes by the ref makes sense.
