Garcia v Easter Kovalev v Alvarez Uk TV
Garcia v Easter Kovalev v Alvarez Uk TV
This weekend there is a unification in the lightweight division involving one of the best fighters in the world and its not on UK TV. Yet a WBO fight between two nobodies is and a farce of a PPV.
Then the week after another elite fighter, Sergey Kovalev, is facing his second best opponent to date in Eledier Alvarez. Alvarez is going in there legitimately thinking he will win. Still not confirmed for UK TV yet.
Poor.

Collateral damage from the Dazn deal.
Apart from Wilder we will see hardly any Showtime stuff on Sky now.
What makes the whole thing worse for us fans in the UK is that this has happened in parallel with the managed decline of B0x Nation.

Can't see what this has to do with DAZN as there is no clash. I can understand allegedly not showing it because they have a contract with Top Rank.boxrecer777 wrote: ↑26 Jul 2018, 11:53 Collateral damage from the Dazn deal.

Luke Campbell could become mandatory for the winner and Crolla is in the mix too ( though I really do not want to see him near Mikey Garcia)

Tbh I think we’re back to the days of watching international fights online the next day. Sky are only interested in UK PPV, and BN has basically shut down.

Most of Sky's international budget will be reserved for the U.S. Dazn events now. Matchroom USA/DAZN are also trying to take boxers and boxing fans away from Showtime too so they're bound to be less friendly to Sky/Matchroom UK when it comes to selling rights to fights like this.Naandrew wrote: ↑26 Jul 2018, 12:09Can't see what this has to do with DAZN as there is no clash. Re: Garcia v Easter Kovalev v Alvarez Uk TV
If BT Sports is serious about increasing their boxing output these are exactly the sort of fights they should be picking up especially as they're losing the UFC contract at the end of the year.

Don't worry, Luke Campbell has no intention of going anywhere near Mikey Garcia.Naandrew wrote: ↑26 Jul 2018, 12:09Can't see what this has to do with DAZN as there is no clash. Re: Garcia v Easter Kovalev v Alvarez Uk TV
Really disappointing that these two fights aren’t being shown. allegedly had its critics for one reason and another but their coverage of biggish international fights was second to none. We’ll look back on the days of allegedly as a great great time for uk boxing fans.
I dont think BT sport will pick up any of the slack. They haven’t been able to get the amount of subscribers they thought they would by investing massively in the premier league and the champions league and are now cutting back in these areas and i expect their investment in other sports to plateau and dip also.

These fights not being on just goes to prove that BN are winding down and aren't interested. Cheap shítty fights being shown instead of big names/cards.... They obviously can't afford to show these type of fights anymore.
Re: Garcia v Easter Kovalev v Alvarez Uk TV
It's a sports streaming website which are owned by the current owner of Leeds United.
They also have La Liga and Serie A rights.
I'm REALLY dissapointed at BT losing UFC though. It devalues it massively for me.

I didn't know they'd lost the rights for UFC! Who's got it now?Naandrew wrote: ↑27 Jul 2018, 02:10It's a sports streaming website which are owned by the current owner of Leeds United.

In February we didn't have a fight between two top 10 p4p fighters for the SuperFlyeight World Championship. Plus it had a good undercard.
At least ring magazine decided to stream it in the UK.

Th UFC deal with BT expires at the end of the year. It will be on Eleven sports next year. Rumours circulating they could sell big fights to sky for example for PPV.Stuarty wrote: ↑27 Jul 2018, 02:11I didn't know they'd lost the rights for UFC! Who's got it now?

I don't think Campbell is arsed. But the options are Mikey Garcia or Lomachenko. I don't count Beltran as that belt is being kept warm for Lomachenko.

Well I hope boxing doesn't go the same way. Maybe BT will bid big for the WBSS?Naandrew wrote: ↑27 Jul 2018, 02:13Th UFC deal with BT expires at the end of the year. It will be on Eleven sports next year. Rumours circulating they could sell big fights to sky for example for PPV.
Re: Garcia v Easter Kovalev v Alvarez Uk TV
The ufc is moving to 11Sports, a streaming service that has links to the ufc's new owners.
Doesn't appear a new deal was even offered to bt or other channels. A really shitty move that is going to do serious harm to ufc interest in the UK.

Re: Garcia v Easter Kovalev v Alvarez Uk TV
11 Sports is owned by the fella who owns Leeds Utd, he has also got the rights to La Liga, Serie A, Eredivisie and Chinese Super League. The thing he doesn't have is a channel to broadcast them on.
Re: Garcia v Easter Kovalev v Alvarez Uk TV
Shame for UFC fans but from a selfish point of view this gets rid of the possibility of a big boxing card clashing with UFC meaning BT could invest more into some international shows to compensate for the loss.
Things arent looking great for us lot wanting the fights live from US but if you really want to watch them there's always a way.

Re: Garcia v Easter Kovalev v Alvarez Uk TV
Exactly. With 2 young kids I can rarely get away with an all nighter these days. I just download the full fight card the next morning from either of the 2 dedicated boxing torrent sites that's out there. Full broadcasts in HD. Re: Garcia v Easter Kovalev v Alvarez Uk TV
Just watched this on YouTube. Pretty comfortable win for Garcia in the end. Could probably have got the stoppage if he’d concentrated more on the body than he did, Easter looked like he was going to crumple every time a body shot landed.
Spence is much too big for Mikey though.

Re: Garcia v Easter Kovalev v Alvarez Uk TV
so many ppl go on like kov is finished or horrifically scarred, if he is alvarez has a great shot, hes a legit contender
