Usyk v Ward. Anyone?

Post by Stuarty »

Would absolutely love to see this. I know Ward is retired but has flirted with the idea of coming back. This must be tempting for him if it was on offer.

Who wins? And is it likely to happen?

usyk, hes too good for ward to beat someone that much bigger. and hes not a face first brawler like jirov whose suseptible to a smaller counter puncher

another things that physicalities a big part of wards game, but does that fly vs a much bigger usyk?

kov almost beat ward and outboxed him at range many rounds, im pretty confident usyk would. hed spank kov too btw

Fair points there. Ward wouldn't be able to use his rough dirty tricks v Usyk. I actually think Usyk is slicker than Ward as well after last night. I might get pelters for that but hey ho!

i think a lot of ppl overestimate how much ward is technical to how much he is physical, despite not being a puncher hes a rough, physical guy who does a lot of work pushing guys around inside

always found it interesting how the fans who favour technacality worship him so much like that guy, hes skilled no doubt but to me kind of a mix and can be quite ugly at times

Yeah he wasn't great to watch most of the time. Bit like Hopkins...

Nah.
Ward can definitely overcome some big guys but Usyk has the size advantage AND excellent skills. Too much.

Wouldn't write Ward off against anyone but the really big heavyweights.

Usyk is way too big for Ward, I wouldn’t want to see it.
