How could Wilder lose this? If he connects he wins. If he doesn't then he'll be chasing Fury around the ring like a madman for 12 rounds.

Fury's win over Wladimir is the key (some might say only) evidence of his claim to greatness. Because we never saw the rematch there have always been massive doubts over Fury's standing. If he manages to beat Wilder then no doubts remain.

It's a huge if as always with Fury. I'll believe it when I see it.

"Deontay Wilder says 'there's no doubt' he will fight Tyson Fury, and it could be as soon as December"

Deontay Wilder has responded to Tyson Fury and says he wants to fight him in Las Vegas in December.

After talks with Anthony Joshua's team of Eddie Hearn and trainer/manager Rob McCracken fell through, the Alabaman is open to fight Fury.

“I believe 100 per cent that this fight is going to happen and it’s going to get done," Wilder, who is undefeated in 40 fights with 39 knockouts, said of the Fury match-up. "We’re very, very close. Closer than Joshua and me could ever get in a lifetime.

"It’s definitely gonna happen, there’s no doubt. There’s just a little more work to be done."

“Me and Fury, we talked with each other back and forth; I think he’s a great guy, we have a relationship together, and my team has a relationship with his team," Wilder told The Ring.

“This is going to be better than Joshua when it all boils down to it … and we know Tyson Fury, in many eyes, is still the champ, he hasn’t been defeated. He’s still undefeated. He’s still the lineal champion. Once I knock him off, I become that man who beat the man.”

Fury (26-0, 19 KOs) has a fight scheduled on August 18 in Belfast against Francesco Planeta, another made-to-order journeyman. “I’m super excited, I can’t wait for this thing to be official and we can get the promotion going and get the fans riled up for it,” said Wilder.

"I feel he’s going to be back into his top form, he’s in shape, he’s slimmed down, he’s been a champion before, he knows what it takes to be a champion, to adjust to other fighters."

“Once you’re a champion, there ain’t no excuses. You’re staying ready 24 hours and if you’re not ready that’s your fault. And that’s what I’m all about.

“He’s a guy that’s ready to go, he’s seen what’s been happening to me with this whole situation, and he’s disgusted because Joshua is British as well, and they see he didn’t want to fight. So he’s being a man, stepping into my backyard and doing something their other so-called champion wouldn’t do, so mad respect from me.”

“It’s going to be a helluva fight, this guy’s not scared, he’s coming to America to fight in my house."

Wilder believes the fight can happen in Las Vegas in December. “He’s ready now, I’m still ready and we’re going to put on one of the biggest heavyweight title fights in boxing. We got two talkers that’s going to promote the s--- out of the fight."

“Maybe the knockout of the year and the fight of the year all in one night. I’m going to have to figure him out at first, but I’m going to knock him out of there for sure — mid-round stoppage. I gotta keep the streak going. Bam, good night.”

It looks like Fury's woken up and realised the shed load of £££££££s he blew screwing up after the Klitschko fight because he's now accusing AJ of doing the same with the lack of a signed deal over the Wilder fight.

However there is one huge difference - AJ has already made a fortune from boxing and doesn't need to chase the most dangerous money first.

Perhaps Fury is finding the comeback tougher than he thought (Oh the endless training and diet regime!). Perhaps he just wants to cash in on his name like he should have done earlier?

He also seems convinced that his purse for the Wilder fight will be huge (>10$ million). If it is and he actually goes for it, then good luck to him.

You're right about Fury's elusiveness, but that was the time when he began to adopt a safety first style which many find uninteresting.

The main problem with Fury is, like Mayweather before him, is that he tries to sell his fights on the promise of action and excitement and delivers none. If he was to say 'I'm going to run for 12 rounds and stay behind a tight defence picking up rounds by the slimmest of margins as I go', how many would regard that as entertaining? More importantly, how many of us would want to pay for it?

If he fights Wilder, he might be hard pushed to keep that one boring.

You’ve accused Tyson Fury of blowing his fortune, but there is no evidence of this, is there?

Tyson Fury’s net worth (as of April 2018) is approximately $20 million (£14 million), which was evaluated by a third-party.

He would have also received a significant one-off payment when he signed an exclusive contract with Fɍȁnk Wȁɍɍȅn, Box-Nation and BT.

Is there any evidence of Tyson Fury struggling with his comeback? Is this purely a guess on your part? Once again, there’s no evidence to support the justification of your accusation.

A fight staged in Las Vegas between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury would very likely ensure the Brit’s payday exceeds £7.6m (or $10m), as the live gate receipts, coupled with the PPV revenue from both Showtime & BT, will inevitably guarantee such lofty purses for both participants.

It seems that the sole purpose of your post was to express a facetious opinion on your part rather than convey factually-accurate information.

It's an interesting scenario right now, and it will get more interesting once Joshua gets past Povetkin.

Joshua can play hardball with the contracts but who is he going to fight next if not Wilder?

A Wilder/Fury matchup this December still leaves the option for Wilder next April free. This is Wilder's best chance to add weight to his 50/50 split demand for the AJ fight.

Wilder probably does regard Fury as harmless inside the ring. He also understands that aside from AJ, Fury remains the biggest name outside the ring.

With the kinds of sums involved even a few percentage points gained can means extra millions of $.

If it worked for GGG..

I know Fury has been out for a while but I can't see Wilder thinking he's harmless in the ring. Wilder is hardly the second coming of Ali.

If he wins, it's genius. If he loses, it's up there with the stupidest decisions in boxing history.

Wilder, for turning down the Joshua payday for being too small then losing for a smaller payday, and i highly doubt if Joshua won the resulting unification he'd give Wilder the opportunity to fight for the belts unless he was mandatory.

This is why i still have my doubts about the Fury/Wilder fight. Makes absolutely no sense to me unless on the off chance Wilder thinks Fury is still going to be a useless overweight target by December. He's even turned down 7-8m for a Whyte, and then a few million for a Chisora fight which he would almost certainly win with ease, to take this fight against Fury which i cant see him making 10m or more at all. Something doesn't add up somewhere, i feel the public has probably been deceived by each fighter and their promoter in this triangle.

Sounds to me like Warren wants to help Wilder make Eddie squirm and i think it's working, but it's going to piss off a lot of fans..

i think warren from a pr perspective is siding with wilder to get one on aj. one way is to try to make it seem like fury and wilder are actually the ones who want the big fights and are trying to get it done. warren was all over brit media too going on every chance he gets about how he saw the 50m guarnatee and that it was real and aj clearly must not have wanted the fight. i think its a tactic from him

i very much doubt this fight is happening this year like warren suggests .

Hard to see Fury-Wilder taking place that quickly. Particularly after the circus-like saga the Joshua-Wilder negotiations were and how long they took for zero result.

If it is nothing more than a charade designed to make Joshua & Hearn look bad it is already succeeding.

Warren could hardly look sillier than Hearn has in his Wilder negotiations.

lol if warren is saying all this then a fight comes to nothing, it just looks like he ran his mouth to get some attention, doesnt matter what hearn has been up to . anything from then on he tries to add will lose credibility, just a guy barking because he wants his guy to be the star in british and world boxing, not aj
