Povetkin has only one loss and it was against W.K which actually was a holding and a lean on your opponent's neck contest by W.K with the permission of the referee.

This is a good match.

Let's remember that fight was also years ago.

Technically Povetkin is better than Joshua.

Joshua has this thing where he'll start a round and just pounce on his opponent, kinda like round 5 vs. Wlad. He'll definitely try that with Povetkin because Povetkin isn't really a mover like Parker is.

Also Parker hasn't look THAT good recently. Compared to let's say over 2 years ago.

I don't think so. Povetkin in contrast to Klitschko has a better chin and having Joshua close is what he needs. In the exchanges Povetkin can get more chances of a victory.

You may well be right. Just hope its a good fight. Need Povetkin to put AJ in some sort of pressure. Just depends on how AJ boxes. Since Parker fight he see’s himself more of a boxer. Would he be on the backfoot against Povetkin?

Yes. I did mean Povetkin.

I suppose, Joshua's style of Parker fight is what AJ needs. It's a traditional plan against small and hard-hitting fighters. A rational approach of keeping the distance with the use of jab is essential here. And I believe, that's what Joshua and his team think. So for me the biggest question will be, if Joshua is able to maintain this picture through the whole fight or Povetkin is able to find a gap in Joshua's game and develop the success.

..closing that gap is the only way to be competitive at least in the first half..hopefully, the referee won't have a problem with that..

AJ needs a good performance. He's not looked that impressive since the Wlad fight. He's been a lot more cautious since then.

That happens with a lot of fighters.

Especially after they get dropped. Maybe he's afraid to get dropped again.

Yeah deffo mate. He's been boring to watch since Wlad. Takam and Parker fights were pretty dull.

Povetkin hasn't really been a ball of fire since he had his little drug test brouhaha a few years back.

Maybe coincidental?

He's getting older, not better. He had some scary moments against Price that he wouldn't have encountered in his early post-Klitschko fights.

I don't see Povetkin lasting the distance. An early exit would not be surprising. His legs didn't look all that steady versus Price.

Joshua opened a strong 1-10 favorite. Right now the odds have soared to 1-16.

Mate povetkin is no joke. He’s no cherry pick. If ah beats him and beats him good regardless of size.,,I’ll be impressed. If Aj beats him though with a lucky punch....I’ll only be impressed with his power nothing else.

No lucky punches in boxing.

If you throw it, you usually intend to land it.

That's not luck. It's skill.

Lol!

Best response I've seen in a while. Quite often the inebriated write the finest posts.

But certainly no vitriol intended in my response. I wasn't intending to be nasty.

I just don't believe there are lucky punches in boxing. Just great shots that hit the target.
