Jarrell Miller v Bryan/Flores winner?
Jarrell Miller v Bryan/Flores winner?
Jarrell Miller is fighting on the DAZN card on 6th October in Chicago. Has anyone heard who he is linked to fighting?
I know he has been trying the WBA route and wants a shot at Charr, my thoughts were they will wait to see who wins between Flores and Bryan and fight the winner. He has already tried to have a fight made with Bryan as a WBA eliminator if i recall correctly, but i have heard nothing lately.

Miller usually talks smack non stop. The HWT division is picking up and there is a good list of opponents that need to be faced. It's TIME for Miller to step up in class ... Wach, Kassi and Gerald Washington are simply not cutting it.
Re: Jarrell Miller v Bryan/Flores winner?
Miller and Bryan were sparring-partners, so I'm not sure, if they fight each other. However, yeah, both Bryan and Flores will be a step back in competition level for Miller.

I thought Baby was fighting Szpilka?

From Jan 2018:

Also, i think it's tactical, Miller is trying to get his shot the easiest way possible and the winner of that then Charr would definitely be easiest.I feel like I deserve it after this fight, after I put Trevor Bryan to sleep, so that's how it is.

Just found this:

Apparantly Adamek wants Miller on the Chicago card. Does nothing rankings-wise but would sell tickets because of the Polish fans in Chicago. When Jarrell Miller’s fight was announced by DAZN for October 6 in Chicago, various reports – and Big Baby in many interviews – linked himself with another Polish heavyweight, Artur Szpilka. Since then, we already know that “The Pin” decided to fight again in Poland (most likely against Mariusz Wach on November 10), and Adamek who is preparing for possible return in autumn, became a hot topic of conversation for next possible bouts. “Góral”, currently ranked higher than Szpilka, has no problem to be part of Chicago show.

Fair enough, any Poles who booked tickets already would be less likely to ask for a refund if there is still a Pole on the card.joshj909 wrote: ↑03 Aug 2018, 10:49Just found this:

Would like to see Big Baby fight someone a bit more relevant though.
Re: Jarrell Miller v Bryan/Flores winner?
adamek at this point is hardly better then kassi (who he had very close fight with). maybe not even better then washington. just a name really and would get pounded
millers last three have been washington-wach-duhuaps. i feel like his opposition has been stuck and adamek would really just be more of the same. granted even then , in todays division washignton-wach-duhaupas-and shopworn adamek makes for one of the better records, but its not very interesting when it goes fight after fight at this type of level and miller isnt making a statment.

Re: Jarrell Miller v Bryan/Flores winner?
Agreed.
Miller is still unproven in my opinion. He talks the big talk, and the reality is he hasn't fought a top 15 guy yet. No way is he ready for Joshua or Wilder.
Of course both those fights would generate decent casuals money, but real boxing fans know he would get soundly beaten.

Miller vs Whyte is a fight I would like to see.
Both are with Hearn, so it should be relatively easy to make.

They were indeed, in fact go back a couple of years and they were regarded as equal prospects neck and neck in the rankings. Jeez you think Miller is showing a lack of ambition in his choice of opponents ?
If Bryan can't beat Flores he might as well hang 'em up. Actually I was beginning to think he had.
I think the main obstacle would be Miller. Whyte would be happy to fight Miller if the money was right. Miller would be happy to fight Whyte if, and only if, there were a world title on the line. In other words it won't happen.
Miller is a fighter I'd pick to beat a lot of the top 10 and to be in with a chance against anybody. Sadly he doesn't seem to share my belief in him, it's frustrating and disappointing.
Re: Jarrell Miller v Bryan/Flores winner?
Maybe in Miller's team they think, that Miller has done enough in the ring and out of it to earn a shot, so now they probably try just to keep winning and negotiate for the title fight.candyslim wrote: ↑04 Aug 2018, 03:27They were indeed, in fact go back a couple of years and they were regarded as equal prospects neck and neck in the rankings. Maybe they do think that, but treading water taking on the likes of Szpilka, Adamek (2018 version) etc, is hardly a war-cry is it?
What does it say? "Quick, give me a title shot before I go and lose against someone halfway decent"

Miller destroys either
Re: Jarrell Miller v Bryan/Flores winner?
Szpilka is not even a B level heavyweight at this point. And Flores, Adamek and Bryan are arguably (probably) worse opponents. At 30 years old with 22 fights, Miller should be looking at a higher level than that. He should be looking at the Whyte/Pulev/Ortiz/Parker kind of level. Kownacki, Hughie, Chisora and Breazeale would also be good opponents imo.
Re: Jarrell Miller v Bryan/Flores winner?
Agreed. Miller ought to be setting his sights much higher. There are fighters in the top ten who I would give little chance of beating Miller at this point (Ortiz, Pulev, even Povetkin and others) who he should be taking aim at while awaiting his title shot.
He doesn't need to beat on an untested former sparring partner, a found wanting journeyman, or a pair of past-their-sell-by-date Poles, when there are targets who will enhance his resume without threatening to derail him.
