I'm not a fan of either.
I'll side with Alexander. He's simply more consistent than Berto, who eons ago looked like he might be a future star.
I expect a dull fight that goes the distance. Alexander will win by 2 or 3 fights.
But he seemed to gas in the second half of the Ortiz fight. He's not so good that he can afford to tire badly again.
I'm more interested in the Quillin-Love undercard matchup.

Quillin's focus is still a question mark, but he looked like an elite tonight compared to Love.
I had the impression that Love was unaware he had a fight scheduled tonight. He did zilch.
Quillin won because he moved his hands occasionally. Love was apparently saving his punches for his next fight.
I had it 99-92 Quillin. But I admit that my attention wandered at times.
So far Alexander and Berto is basically a one punch and hug fight. Announcers making it out to be a great fight. They always do.
What a crappy 3 hour card. At least there's no charge to watch it.

Berto rallies late as Alexander appears to gas again as he did in the draw with Ortiz.
The split decision goes to underdog Berto in a fight that picked up in the second half as Alexander slowed and began to stand still and trade.
A slugfest actually broke out in the final round.
I didn't feel that Berto's rally was enough to earn him the decision. I had it 7-5 Alexander (115-112 with a 10-8 round for a flash knockdown).
Berto's win, and Alexander's credible performance, probably means that both fighters remain in the hunt for future big paydays against top PBC fighters.

Alexander won in my eyes.

The fight was close and pretty dull, with lotta clinching and the lack of clean and effective action.
