R2 Alverez took it by landing his right over Kov who is losing the speed battle so far

R3 Alverez moving well, Kov stepping it up a bit but not having a lot of success. Very close round.

R4 huge combo from Kov, Alverez took it well. Kov settling in well. Alverez stunned twice but still OK.
Body work by Kov bringing Alverez's hands down.

R5 Alverez a bit shy to unload now. Kov has his jab working, finally.
Kov taking over the aggression. It has the feeling of when Kov lands big. Alverez hasn't been stopped, so this is his chin test!

R6 Kov mixing shots up well. Body, head, hooks and straight shots. Alvarez hasn't been quite the same after round 5. Alverez cut under the eye late in the round. Nothing too bad.

Alvarez needed to invest to the body. He didnt. So he cant win bc Kov wont fade thanks to not getting banged to the body.

To be fair - nobody saw that coming.
Kov was winning on boxing, hitting with more power and squeezing the life out of Alvarez.
What a turnaround

Kovalev has been fading in fights for a while now. Some horrible stamina there. Not Pascal bad but clearly not good. A solid 6 round fighter at this point.

Sergey certainly was in control but I guess he was tiring more than we suspected. Dude is just not the same as fights wear on. As he tires his punch resistance dissipates.

Alverez isn't even known as a puncher, but that right hand was MEGA! And he knows how ito finish.
Maybe that is why Chickenson payed him step aside money :maybe:

Kovalev was gasping for air after the 6th round. He's been a disaster waiting to happen since the Ward losses. I didn't expect Alvarez to be the one to get to Kovalev, but it was pretty obvious he's been ripe for the taking.

I always had doubt about Kovalev's chin, and it confirms I was right, because Alvarez is not a KO puncher.

What hype train? Guy was legit p4p #2 at one point in his career. He was still around 6-10 p4p. What hype? You don't call someone that's for real hype. Just a stupid thing to say.

It's his stamina - it's garbage, been saying it for a while. He either doesn't train hard or sweats too damn much and falls apart. It's not like his fights are grueling.
