Usyk vs. Bellew, November, 10th, UK, who wins ?

Post by ValMar »

It seems agreed (at CW, for the undisputed champion). Who wins, and how ?

Usyk by decision. I am very confident picking against Bellew, as I usually am
- right before he makes me look a fool again.

Not this time though Tony, not this time.

how many times have you picked against him? he seems to have gathered this big rep of proving ppl wrong, but tbh the only fights i picked against him that he won were the haye fights, and i just cant see how with a guy like usyk wed see the type of injury and decline we saw in haye.

.....usyk is 5 years younger then bellew and 7 years younger then haye

Usyk by decision.

Bellew is a smallish, heavyweight and not deeply talented despite any ratings.

It's a perfectly safe introduction to the heavyweight division for Usyk, and will serve to quickly get him a world ranking when he wins.

Tony is a wiley campaigner. I think he has a few things up his sleeve to keep Usyk honest in this fight. But I think the youth and movement will prove too much for an older Bellew.
Like Slim, I have bet against Bellew almost every time, and apart from Stevenson, I've been proven wrong.

Bellew will get dominated and stopped, I’m sure he will be brimming with confidence after beating the shot to shit version of David Haye, but I can’t see it being competitive behind the first 1-2 rounds when Usyk realizes how easily he is going to beat him.

Dave Coldwell will throw in the towel once Bellew starts getting beat up.

The only objective advantage of Bellew is a solid puching power. But Usyk has the chin, while that his quality can even be not so needed in this matchup. It looks like a good pay-day for Bellew, he can cash out on being outclassed, but not damaged much.

Generally speaking, I agree with you. Although I consider this event as a border-line mismatch, I can not wait to see.....And, I suppose it will be a good pay-day for both fighters, not only for Bellew.

Usyk by mid/late stoppage. Bellew is gonna try, and if he gets stopped trying, so be it.

Usyk by stoppage IMO. But still, Bellew presents some serious danger :box: :box: :box:

Seems like Usyk would win, but I like the match-up. Bellew, along with Drozd, is a CW that Usyk never got to conquer in the tournament.

the situation with drozd kinda sucked, he was pretty impressive but as soon as he arrived on the world scene it was over, due to the injury

Usyk is Prime, and one of the most talented boxers in the game right now. While I've absolutely loved Bellew's demolitions of David Haye, Usyk ain't no David Haye. He ain't broken down. He's healthy, and frankly better than Haye ever was to begin with IMO.

He'll stop Bellew or win a lopsided UD.

Kudos to Bellew for taking on such a tough challenge though. I like Tony, I just think he's outmatched here.

I would've been trying real hard to talk Bellew into fighting Fury or something if I was in his ear. I doubt he beats AJ, Fury or Usyk, but at least with the Heavies he'd get a career high payday to go out on.

And frankly I'd consider Fury the most beatable of the 3 at this point.

Haye x2, Makubu, Cleverly rematch... Chilemba rematch? Apart from the last one those were the times I picked against TB anyway.

Either way I could see him winning those fights but I can't see any way he wins this time.

I can't see Bellew winning. I also don't see him getting KOd. Usyk by wide UD.

If Bellew takes this fight then all credit to him for agreeing to fight a genuinely world class fighter for only the second time in his hugely over hyped career.

Like the first time he stepped up to elite level versus Stevenson I expect to see him exposed as the Euro level plodder he is and stopped in the middle rounds
