Team Yarde Slam Eddie Hearn

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

ANTHONY YARDE’S camp have blasted back at Eddie Hearn telling him: “Put your own light-heavyweights against each other and we’ll bash the last man standing.”

Hearn has claimed Yarde would be easy pickings for his seven fight novice Joshua Buatsi, but the number one ranked WBO challenger isn’t looking over his shoulder at those behind him.

Yarde’s trainer Tunde Ajayi snapped: “It is the Eddie Hearn template. He uses the market value and popularity of other fighters to build his fighters and that is not going to happen in this situation.

“It is all about Anthony Yarde. It is the same pattern first Hosea Burton, then Frank Buglioni, then Callum Johnson and now Joshua Buatsi using Anthony’s name to become famous.

“If Buatsi went anywhere in London and asked if people knew who he was they would just about know who he is and ask; ‘Are you the guy they are talking about fighting Anthony Yarde?’

“Why is Eddie calling us out for Buatsi? He has Frank, Hosea, Jake Ball and Callum in his stable.

“Once Callum has had his world title fight why doesn’t he put them all together? Then, we can see where we are at the end of that and get it on.

“That is not ducking. That is how it goes. We didn’t work this hard to let someone who has had seven fights have a chance.

“The fight against Buatsi can happen when he has worked his way up just like we have had to work our way to the position we’re in.

“We didn’t have any Team GB backing before turning professional. allegedly and myself have built Anthony from scratch.

“Buatsi has had seven fights. We’re way ahead of him. We have worked our way to number one with the WBO and we’re not going backwards.

“He stopped an opponent on Saturday, Andrejs Pokumeiko who the British Boxing Board of Control wouldn’t let us fight.”

Instead of looking backwards, Tunde and Yarde (16-0) are flying to Atlantic City this weekend on a spying mission.

They will be ringside to see WBO 175lb champion Sergey Kovalev defend his WBO light-heavyweight title against Eleider Alvarez on a bill that also includes another rival Dmitry Bivol.

Ajayi added: “We have worked our way up to the number one position with the WBO and some might say that a bit early in Anthony’s career, but we are on our way to Atlantic City to see what is going on.

“It isn’t about calling opponents out. It’s about going to look at future opponents like we are doing this weekend.

“We are looking at our potential opponents Kovalev and Bivol this weekend. We are not looking at novices.

“Despite what anyone may think we’re in a position for a reason. All we’ve done is work hard and we’re in a situation where everybody is firing at us.”

The date and further details of Yarde’s next fight will be announced next week.

Some of what he has said made sense.. But Yarde has had no domestic fights or challenged for ANY domestic titles and just fought Romanians.

Jesus christ Yarde is actually WBO number 1 yet Alvarez and Badou Jack are 8 and 9

Shows exactly what is wrong with boxing.

Jack and Alvarez have never been highly ranked by WBO. They’ve never gone down their route. Yarde has been WBO European champion for a while so kinda boosts his rating.

Let's not hide the fact that Yarde hasn't really beat anyone but some of the above does make sense.

Why doesn't Hearn put Butsai in against his own stable. No need for the call outs just yet especially when some good fights can be made and should be very easy to make as well.

Also, so early in their careers.

looks to me as if Yarde is ducking domestic challenges. Not interested. Buatsi would chin him IMO.

I wouldn't underestimate Yarde. I think he could be a force. But he's not showcasing what he should/could be.

He's got the power but there's a few rumours floating about that he's hiding glass. I'm not really underestimating him I just really rate Buatsi although he's not been tested himself yet. Hearns handling of him has been poor so far because he's a talent.

Fking right mate. Sure some decent points where made in that piece with Tundy but they are clearly ducking people. He may well have been named by those guys and he has fought none of them. Has a ranking he has not worked for so save the "We worked hard to get here" bollox.

If I was Yarde and had real belief in myself, the simple answer would be "Tell the fuckkers I will fight any of them next, knock them the eff out and then they can shut up."

Boxing is a great sport, people can gob off about you and all you have to then do is just pissing fight them and prove they were wrong. Simple. To continuously not do so, says it all.

The only one they may have actually been interested in was Frank, the most limited of the lot despite actually beating Burton

Yarde: "Yeah we looking for other fights, bigger fights." Then fights a clown

Aye exactly! He could've taken the Beterbiev fight but shirked that and Johnson took it on. He doesn't want a world title fight, doesn't seem interested in taking on any domestic rivals..... What the fukk does he actually want to do :maybe:

Hearn is a prick but a fight with Buatsi would pay him a lot more than fighting another taxi driver with Frank and it would be his best win as well!

so who does yarde need to fight domestically

johnson
buglioni
burton
buatsi

i mean i see johnson. but im not at all convinced at buglioni or burton being better then the last few guys he fought (burton himself has beaten pretty much entirely shit btw and just looked awful winning a decision over a journeyman). and buatsi looks a real talent but has barely any fights and hasnt stepped up at all himself. i cant really say buatsis being ducked or that buatsi himself has shown the eagerness to fight the best domestically

Unless it’s a purse bid or a mandatory, let’s face it, there’s no chance at all of Hearn and W🐟rren working together is there.

Tunde was looking at Joe Sherriff and Joel McIntyre as Yarde's next opponent.... this is not a joke btw, he said it in a interview with BWTM Sports a month ago.

Team Yarde are an embarrassment at the moment. Eddie’s been matching his fighters at LHW for the last couple of years, Buglioni/Burton Buglioni/Johnson.

Buatsi probably WILL end up fighting his own stablemates, but they are genuinely pursuing a Yarde fight because it’s what Eddie, Josh and the people want.

He’s mandatory for a world title and hasn’t fought anyone of any note. If Buatsi’s fight with Summers went ahead he’d have as good an opponent on his record as Yarde does (arguably).

If that’s true about Sheriff and McIntyre it says it all about how slow they’re gonna take it.

ricky summers hasnt beaten anyone who has a winning record, please tell me his best result. lol at how ridiculously ppl stretch things when it comes to yardes comp

yarde beat a guy who drew for the ebu 175 title right before, and some fringe level euro types

summers only beat two guys who had winning records at the time (6-5/4-2) and now they both have losing records. burtons best wins are over fringe english level miles shinkwin and an english level super middle . he got kod the one time he fought above that level. he also routinely goes the distance and looks crap vs journeyman. can you imagine if yarde put in the performance that burton did last fight?

buglioni couldnt beat lee markham and got splatted by euro level khomitsky. totally outclassed by fairly basic chudinov, who btw just got schooled by nadjob mohamdi, only to get a gift. yarde has already easily stopped guys of markhams level and easily stopped a euro level guy.

these are the types of fights people cry about yarde ducking? i just dont see it at all. domestic doesnt mean better when your talking about guys like this. johnson, yes, that would be good, but johnson is going straight for a title, and buatsi just doesnt make sense. guy has 5 fights and has fought no one. not much to gain for yarde when hes sitting on a world title shot.

there no better then the guys yardes fighting and some are worse, like what exactly makes hosea burton better then guys like sek , etc? how is frank buglioni, thrashed multiple times at euro level, obviously better then a guy who drew for the ebu title vs a solid opponent? just strange to give them so much added credit because there domestic. and a guy like buatsi has 5 fights, no significant title etc, and is with an extremely bitter rival of warrens, so get real people. not realistic and not really sensible either for a guy likely to get a shot at something much bigger then buasti has

the slipping in of summers was especially LOL, i mean the guy who hasnt beaten anyone who now has a winning record is obviously a step up on the likes of that total overrated hype job kovalev , but if your gonna knock yardes opponents please dont mention summers

Yarde-Buatsi's a fight we all want to see, but it's true that Yarde's a fight or two up the road. But then Buatsi himself's probably too good for Burton and Bug, so give him just one more fight against a name (Johnson?) and then on to Yarde.

I agree with some of what Team Yarde are saying. I understand the reluctance to fight Buatsi, risking a loss against someone with 7 fights doesn't really make sense. But why he showed no interest in the Burton and Buglioni fights is strange. As someone said above, if someone is calling you out and you believe in yourself, why not knock them out and make a nice few quid? They use the excuse of "we're ranked in the WBO top 3 so those guys would be a step back" but then turn down a world title shot anyway? What's the point of avoiding domestic fights to protect your world ranking when you don't use the world ranking to get a world title shot?

And for me the comment about Buatsi's opponent backfired and makes them look daft... “He stopped an opponent on Saturday, Andrejs Pokumeiko who the British Boxing Board of Control wouldn’t let us fight.” Trying to fight guys that poor and not being allowed to is really not something to be bragging about.
