Broner vs Lipinets

Post by diddy »

Sounds like this is gonna happen. I would actually lean pretty heavily to Broner in this one, and I think he borderline stinks but Lipinets would stand in front of him, is barely average athletically and doesnt have a workrate that would bother Broner much. Think Broner takes this one by decision.

It would be a very good piece of matchmaking on the part of Broner's team.

They know that all he needs is one decent win and his name is back in the mix with the big boys. Lipnets is the kind of fighter Broner can look good against.

Is this one of the fights Broner is going to get paid 10 million for?

Lipinets will fight hard throughout. Broner is lazy and will inevitably take rounds off. This fight might turn out be a lot closer then some may think.

140 or 147? Lipinets fought the gatekeeper Bone last weekend at welterweight but may have just been because they couldn't be arsed getting down to 140 for a non-title fight. Hope its at 140 to be honest, neither will get close to a belt at 147.

If Broner remembers to move his hands (always a big if) he should walk all over Lipinets.

Then he'll call out Garcia for a rematch.

Hmmm, I'm still dubious about the whole deal Broner was offered.
10 million to fight Lipinets does sound a bit over the top.

Basic can beat Broner with drive and hard work though if he's underprepared.

Broner probably won't show up fully prepared. I suppose, he'll never show up in his best version again. He is to win Lipinets anyway, if he at least in the shape of his last couple of fights.

Lipinets is totally mediocre. Broner will win easily. I can't believe Showtime is willing to foot the bill for millions of dollars a fight for this garbage.

Good fight. WTF is all this talks about basic? Styles make fights but Lipinets did a lot better against Garcia than Broner did. By the way, Lipinets does not belong at 147 lbs. Not sure why he even fought at that limit. I hope he moves back down because Bone was looking massive in there against him.

stop your overrating of lipinets, hes mediocre, looked absolutely average at best vs bone, honda, and zapavinigia. even got cut up by walter castillo. of course hes basic, in style and athletic ability, watch him fight ffs.

broner beats him handily

I'm not overrating anyone. Lipinets did better against Mikey than Broner and Easter. As I said, styles make fights but calling Lipinets mediocre is underrating him.

By the way, Porter didn't look great against Bone who literally had like a days notice or something. Hell, I think they were saying he was flown there that day.

I said Bone was a good fight at WW because he's no pushover.

Lipinets is mediocre. BoxRec ranks him at #17 and that is an inflated rank because the cards in the Kondo and Bone fights were extremely generous to him. In reality he is closer to the #25-30 range. Broner may be a B+ fighter marketed as an A, but he will beat Lipinets very comfortably.

Considering the huge ratings that Broner always attracts, SHOWTIME undoubtedly considers spending "millions of dollars a fight for this garbage" to be quite a bargain.

are his ratings really huge. .theyre good but huge sounds like the ratings youd get for a ppv superstar

he was getting around 1m a fight before, already doing his normal numbers, the deal he claimed himself was 50m for 5 fights with may promotions, is that the same asshowtime paying millions and millions and millions for a fight like this?

Does anyone know what the purse actually is for this fight?
I can't believe May Promotions is paying Broner more than 1 million, which leaves 49 million for 4 fights

His ratings are damn good, even stupendous, for a guy who is treading water in his career.

Better than most except maybe a big Wilder fight.

SHOWTIME believes that Broner is worth the big bucks. It's because of the numbers.

Love him or hate him, fans tune in because they're fascinated by Broner.

he averaged 782 last match...good draw but not huge at all.

hes gotten about 1m a fght lately drawng those types of numbers i believe. the supposed 50m deal was wth mayweather and am not even sure if that was credibly confirmed

even wlders only been gettng around 1m- 1.4m dollars per fght usually. would be lttle sense in broner gettng 10m per

No purse would be announced since the fight is only in the negotiation stage.

It's not signed.

I can't imagine Broner fighting for just $1 million at this point.

And he deserves the big money. Even with his struggles, he doesn't hesitate to take on name opponents.

Many fighters in his situation would look for easy breathers.

Broner gets good ratings for one reason only. He’s a dick who sells himself well. Props to him. He’s not as stupid as he looks and sounds. Much of it is tactical.
