Re: Boxing Mysteries-Kid Riviera
It was not mentioned in the JET article, but apparently the alderman that was killed was reportedly no paragon of virtue himself.
His nickname was Ben"Deep-Pockets"Lewis,
due to the fact that he had the habit of borowing
large amounts of money from a crime synicate and was reluctant or never paid it back.
Shortly before he allegedly had borrowed 35 thousand dollars from a
local policy wheel boss by the name of Tom "Shaky "Anderson.
Jimmy Williams aka Kid Rivera was Anderson's bodyguard and muscleman.
(Kid Riviera reporedly weighed about 300 pounds around this time)

Re: Boxing Mysteries-Kid Riviera
anyone here e know when he died?
I had heard the police still suspected him
afterwards and arrested him in some illegal gambling raids and he was sent to prison in 1964.
check out his DOB and what else is(not)known of his background.
