Shavkhat Rakhimov vs Robinson Castellanos

Post by handsofstone »

This sunday afternoon on allegedly, BN was getting a lot of stick for announcing this fight last week seeing as they've missed a few big cards this year but this card in all fairness looks decent, solid undercard by all accounts and a pro debut for an Olympic Gold medallist whose name escapes me

Never seen unbeaten Tajikstan boxer Rakhimov, he's coming off a KO win over Malcom Klassen whose been around the block, Castellanos is coming off that TD loss in a world title challenge to then WBA Super Featherweight champ Jezreel Corrales, he has a fair few losses on his CV and a lot by KO but he's in good form, has wins over Gamboa and Ronny Rios, he had his moments against Corrales as well and had him down early, I had Corrales a few rounds up when the fight was stopped on a cut suffered by Castellanos but the cards were tight on 2 scores

Looks a big step up for Rakhimov and having never seen him I don't know how good he is, Castellanos will probably need a stoppage to win though, I wouldn't totally rule him out but i'd imagine Rakhimov is a firm fav

Oyf im loving that from Rakhimov, I seen someone on twitter last week take a pop at BNs content last week by showing Castellanos's boxrec record, only a casual would dismiss him as a walkover, he's got KOs over quality fighters and been in with elite guys and fair enough he's been stopped a fair few times but Rakhimov done a job on him, stopped him in the 2nd, had him down 4 times, all from different shots, had him down with a southpaw jab/left hand in the 1st, the jab was top drawer and probabky had Castellanos falling before the short left, Castellanos down 3 times in the 2nd, straight right then a right hook and the last KD was a left to the solur, ouch
