Interesting/uncommon places for boxing event

Im interested if you have been/know of rare places where boxing events are held

In Poland every year there is a boxing card held in Wieliczka salt mines (unesco heritage site) 125m under the ground

I went to a boxing event at a Harley-Davidson motorcycle dealer which was under a large tent outside.

The Playboy mansion, Royal Armouries museum (leeds) and I cant remember who it was but (Max baer ?) a Heavyweight champ once had an exhibition fight at the White house.

Joe Calzaghe fought inside Cardiff Castle once, I'm not sure if any other boxing matches have been held inside a castle before.

I have refereed at few unusual shows like one that was held outside of a gym in the street in West Baltimore about a block from the housing projects where a lot of the show "The Wire" was filmed at. It was a free event so lots of people showed up. It made for interesting banter with the crowd when a boxer they wanted to win did not. I did another show in the parking lot outside of a strip club in Baltimore. I went inside to use the bathroom and they had to be the most disgusting looking dancers I have ever seen.
I also did several shows inside of prisons which were always interesting. In Pennsylvania, they use to have prisons fight other prisons. One of the most intense fights I ever ref'd was a white guy from the home prison vs a black guy from a different prison. They stood in the middle of the ring for 3 rounds never moving their feet and just pounding away at each other. The crowd was the most loudest I ever heard screaming "white boy". There were inmates with their dates in the crowd....dudes dressed up like chicks. I met B-Hop about a year ago and we had a nice convo about the prison boxing in Pennsylvania where he started.

There was idea in Poland of making a boxing card held in Malbork castle (ex Teutonic Order capital, probably biggest castle in the world and my hometown) but once a boxing card was held in other (and much much smaller) castle in city called Szydłowiec

Wieliczka salt mines is an interesting place, nice uncommon tourist attraction. Operated since 13th century until 2007, reaches 327m in depth and is 287km long. Almost everything there is made out of salt rock

The Queen Mary oceanliner hosted a televised fight card in 2017. It was a historic vessel built by the British and retired in 1967 to the port in Long Beach, CA where it serves as a tourist attraction:

His name was James Scott who fought at Rahway prison in New Jersey, same place where Ruben "Hurricane" Carter and Dwight Muhammad Quai did time at. Scott just died back in May. They used to show his fights on TV but he was not allowed to fight for a title while locked up.

I've heard of 2 military shows that were a bit interesting. One Marine told me about fighting in a big cave like room dug into a mountain in Iraq. He said there was like 1000 Marines going nuts during the fights.
An Army guy told me about an all Army show on the DMZ in Korea. The ring post were APC's (armored personnel carriers) and everybody in the crowd was in full battle gear with weapons.

That is really interesting, I had not even heard of Malbork castle but after a quick read up on it I feel like I should know about it.

I didn't go but I thought when Michael Watson and Nigel Benn fought in the tent back in the day was good and the atmosphere was electric or at least it came across that way on tv.
I went to the Max Schmeling Halle in Berlin to watch Huck and Lebedev, that was a nice arena with a good view from just about every seat.
This is a good topic I'll give this some more thought.

Attended a couple of uncommon venues. Watched Ricky Burns fight in a Chinese restaurant in Glasgow. My mate was supposed to be on the undercard but his fight fell through late on.

Was at the Titanic Quarter in Belfast when Frampton beat Martinez for the world title. Specially erected arena. Was fuckin freezing!

This isn’t that uncommon.....but I went to a fight card at Ellis Park in Henderson, Ky.

It’s a horse track and the ring was set up right In The middle of the dirt track near the finish line.

The really strange thing was the main event was Bones Adams versus a no name and when the fight was over he got married in the ring.

There was a fight that took place on the border between Mexico and Texas. They set up a ring and a fence and everything. Something about boxing being illegal is Texas and illegal in Mexico, so they did something weird.
