Tyson Fury’s official weight for the Francesco Pianeta fight is 258lbs, which is 18lbs lighter than what he weighed for the Sefer Seferi bout.

This is very close to his mathematically-calculated average weight for all 26 of his bouts that he has competed in to-date, which is 257¼lbs. His average weight during the last five years works out at 262½lbs.

Based on my comparison of the photos of Fury’s weigh-in’s for both the Pianeta and Klitschko bouts, it’s pretty clear that Tyson seems less ripped, with less muscle than he did during his 2015 heyday.

That being said, Fury’s physical transformation over the last twelve months has been nothing short of extraordinary and if he maintains his current trajectory with his fitness levels, he won’t be far removed from his physical prime when he faces Deontay Wilder in November.

I can’t help thinking that Tyson’s main priorities for both of his comeback fights so far has been to lose weight. I don’t think he needs to bother doing that anymore. He now needs to focus solely on fitness and skills prior to facing ‘The Bronze Bomber’.

What are your thoughts?

..plus minus a couple of pounds shouldn't be critically important, he looks good enough, whether he can also box the top guys and win remains to be seen..

The most interesting thing Fury said was that he was at his target weight 3 weeks prior to fighting Pianetta.

The fight isn't bigger, but the winner would clearly be "the man" at heavyweight, since Fury dethroned "the man." AJ just had Fury's leftovers.

Fury vs AJ would likely be bigger than either of them, but it would probably be made even bigger if Fury fought Wilder first.

Of course Wilder vs AJ will be the fight after Wilder vs Fury happens. Assuming it happens that is.

Wilder verse Povetkin is my guess.

I think it’s likely with his suspect chin.

Isn't it kind of ironic that AJ gets dropped by Wlad once, and has a "suspect chin", but Povetkin got dropped by Wlad 4 times, and is coming off a fight where he was badly rocked by David Price and is perceived as rock solid?

Povetkin was leaned on the entire fight, which led to those knockdowns.

AJ got almost stopped by a 41-year-old man coming off a clear loss and halfway into retirement.

The good news for AJ is that Povetkin is now 38 so he is far past his prime.

Yeah he should defend against somebody young and vigorous. How about Luis Ortiz?
