Is Joe Calzaghe picking them a little too carefully ?

Clearly. Great resumee. Consistently picked the best available fighters for the past 10 years, fought every man with every style, didn't mind to travel to far places to get the right fight. As a consequence, there is noone left to fight except perhaps Tarver. :TU:

A fight with Tarver next year looks promising.
Danny Green's resume is pretty good as is Kessler's.

Green has Beyer x 2, Lucas, Di Leslie and soon to be Mundine.

Kessler has 5 former world champions - Mundine, Lucas, Siaca, Green, Theobala, former Commonwealth champion (Thysse) and former title challenger Cummings.

Okay not as good as Joe - but considering Kessler is 5 years younger and been a pro 8 years (Joe's been a champion for longer) - its not bad.

Green is about Joe's age, but only been around for less than 5 years.

In my book Kessler's best opponent - Mundine - is better than any of Joe's. PLUS, he fought him abroad.
And the rest is not far behind.

Actually, I rank prime Reid probably a bit higher than Mundine. But this fight Calzaghe arguably lost.

Mundine's best win was Echols, of course.

So by that, do you also mean you'd favour Mundine to beat Lacy too?

I wouldn't be suprised if this fight was to happen.

I would have but there would have been some that would have said Doug was limited and Iran had eye problems coming into those bouts.

you're getting a bit silly. most ppl don't think Calzaghe lost that fight. however, by trying to affirm that reid is his best foe, and then saying that reid 'arguably beat him', is a bit manipulative. lacy beat reid, and Calzaghe rained over 1000 accurate punches (most of which landed) to batter Lacy.

like i said before, reid lost to malinga. woodhall beat malinga and calzaghe gave woodhall a beating.

i'm sure you don't think THAT highly or reid unless to you want to undermine Calzaghe. maybe you do think Robin's the great man. were you in that porno with him?

You're carrying this too far. Calzaghe had a tough and close fight with prime Reid, and prime reid was probably his best opponent.

In contrast, the Reid who showed up to fight Lacy cannot be called exactly "prime"- or can he?

i wouldnt.
lacy showed a lot of guts in there and despite that type of a beatdown he heard the final bell. it takes a lot to break that guys heart. i think anyone who beats lacy is going to have to pull out a calzaghe type performance and i dont think mundine has got it in him.

Mundine never fought ameteur beat Soliman in I think in only his eighth fight , Fought Ottke in only his 11th if my memory serves me right.

If you watched that fight Mundine a comparative novice to the ring, boxed Ottkes ears off was well in front and hit a brick wall , tell you it was'nt the punch to the temple it was absolute sheer exhaustion that took its toll ,Once he went down he could'nt get up anyone who questions Mundines heart don't know jack shit about boxing or at least they think they do but theve never tried it,

Imagine if wicky had gone in with Zoo in his 11th fight fack sake he was still learning up til fight number 40. Joe has never been to keen to step in with Mundine , Remember Mundine fought soliman in fight 8 Ottke in fight 11 and then jumped in with Echols when the whole world including and especially Joe were ducking him.

cOMPARING CARREERS kHAN HAS ABOUT 5 MORE FIGHTS TO GO AND HE CAN JUMP IN WITH MAYWEATHER
