Since he fought Centeno Jr I didn't hear nothing about this "the next big thing at 160" in terms of fighting ?! At least Jacobs will fight Derevyanchenko and Saunders will fight Andrade (hope so). He is suspended ?
Murray, Rosado or Hassan N'Dam ?

He's the interim WBC champion. He'll want the winner of Alvarez vs. GGG for sure. Alvarez and GGG are in a position where they can chose who they want to fight next.
Charlo does need to fight again this year tho.

This dude ain't fought nobody important. He wants that easy route. Fortunately for him Canelo or GGG would dump that strap.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑15 Aug 2018, 13:52 He's the interim WBC champion. Centeno, Williams and Trout are decent names on his resume. But fact that fight with Jacobs did not happen was big disapointment.
Re: So what kind of "top" opponent would Jermall fight next ?
Guy has been matched very carefully. Sick of them saying the Charlos are the next big thing when they've fought nobody.
Hurd put his money where is mouth was a fought Lara.

trout and wllams are decent but centeno blows. couldnt win a round vs that pole who jacobs beat. culcay was way more succesful vs that guy then hugo was.
Re: So what kind of "top" opponent would Jermall fight next ?
He probably wants to fight Alvarez, Golovkin, Jacobs, Saunders, and Andrade. But fighters who already have fights scheduled include: Alvarez, Golovkin, Jacobs, Saunders, and Andrade. So he is probably forced to scavenge for leftovers, though he doesn't want to.
Also, last time I checked (June), the Charlos were shopping for new promoters. It would be intellectually dishonest to suggest that Charlo is searching for weak opponents right now. No, he has been searching for PROMOTERS. When you are in the market for promoters, usually that isn't a period of time in which you are booking your best fights, or any fights at all.

Has there been any more recent news about their promotional situation since June? I don't know, you tell me. Probably not.

Re: So what kind of "top" opponent would Jermall fight next ?
The only decent name (in terms of who he fought) was Trout and we all saw that it was a difficult fight for both Charlos. As for Jermall fighting Jacobs I really wanted to see it but if I remember corectly I saw how fast Jermall lost his "swag" when Jacobs checked him.
Re: So what kind of "top" opponent would Jermall fight next ?
I don't know the answer to that but I'd love to see Jermall fight Jacobs or Saunders or Canelo or Golovkin.
Hoping we don't have too long to wait but I'm not holding my breath.

Jacobs/Charlo needs to happen. Would be a fantastic fight.

X2
Very carefully matched. I really hope he gets out before the end of the year. The whole 'waiting for the big one' has tripped up quite a few guys who have sat on the bench wasting their youth. Eddie would pay decent enough for Jacobs/Charlo, and plenty of people, myself included, would like that matchup.

Re: So what kind of "top" opponent would Jermall fight next ?
sulecki would make sense while charlo waits, sulecki battered centeno too so it would at least be a step up on his last opponent + sulecki was competitive vs charlos rival dj + both with haymon
jermalls really good but maybe stagnating a bit with the wbc tied up with ggg vs canelo, last few opponents were pretty weak and uninteresting for a talent like jermall

Jermall Charlo will probably face one of these guys next: Immanuwel Aleem (if he beats Willie Monroe Jr. this weekend) or Sergio Mora.
By the way, this is pure guesswork on my part, based on my review of the available 160lb-ers that are officially part of the PBC roster.
